You are correct. He’ll demand a jury trial and his lawyers will make sure there are at least a few hard-core leftists empaneled who wouldn’t convict a Democrat to save their own lives.

I would settle for his probation for 48 months,his (I know,really his daddy) paying the maximum fines set by law,felony convictions on all counts with maximum sentence suspended and terms of probation stipulating no use of computers nor engaging in any form of political activism for the duration of the probation in addition to the usual no drugs,alcohol, or criminal associates provisions.The plea deal would stipulate that he cannot and will not hold or seek any public office for life.Nor could he cast a ballot in any public election for life.
I wonder how sonny feels going to jail when daddy may have put him up to this? Or, better yet, the local democrats put daddy up to it and his son pays the price?

The prosecutor doesn’t seem to be inclined to plea bargaining right now. And that’s good, because there should be an example set that if one does this sort of thing, then you’re going to land up in the slammer, no matter who your daddy is... LOL...
As far as those other “terms” that you laid out, I don’t think they would be enforceable and all that you’re really left with is a “prison sentence” to serve — and that’s it...
I’m pretty well sure that you’re not going to be able to enforce any voting restriction after he’s completed his sentence. And I don’t think running for office will be restricted either. I think both can be declared unconstitutional, if one were to adjudicate it.
Jail time is the best and simplest way to handle it. They’ll be an “education” for him and for others in “jail time”...

Really? What deal? Several Watergate conspirators went to prison and Nixon probably would have too if he hadn't been pardoned by Ford.

Ford didn't need permission from prosecutors to pardon Nixon. They weren't in a position to make any sort of deal in that case.

sheesh, of course not. But if he makes it to jail, the bubbas will think so though.
I seem to recall that 65 people, most of them lawyers, were convicted of crimes. Nixon, himself, got off pretty easy.
The prosecutors could have nodded and winked themselves silly and it wouldn't have made any difference. They have no say on presidential pardons.
