MADOFF KO'D 'TELL ALL' DEAL Madoff is an evil crook - but apparently not a rat. ....he refused a deal requiring him to tattle on family members or others........means investigators won't have Madoff's assistance in learning who might have helped operate the massive scam that ripped off thousands of investors for two decades.......Madoff's wife, Ruth, has retained counsel.....sons Andrew and Mark, brother, Peter, and niece, Shana all worked at the firm. But former federal prosecutor Bradley Simon said Madoff likely cut a secret deal to "provide a road map" to the money he stole after he goes to prison......federal law gives him wiggle room to reverse course for up to a year after sentencing. "Once given a taste of what jail is all about, that may change his thinking to do whatever he can to lighten his load".......a former federal inmate said Madoff's decision to plead guilty without a deal means he "still thinks he's in control." "Once he gets behind that fence, and a correctional officer tells him to strip, bend over and spread 'em, he'll find out that's not the case."'

When private citizens commit fraud they go to jail, when congressmen do it they get reelected.
Why should he deal - other than giving a ___ about all the people he screwed over. 20 years is a life sentence for him and no matter what happens it won’t be shorter than that. He stole from too many high placed people.
I see him conniving to make certain his wife & kids are well taken care of financially, and the offing himself before they take him to jail.
The guy is 70. He's not stupid.
Madoff knows that any deals he could make won’t do him any good. He is going to be sequestered for the rest of his life no matter what. He knows that “imprisonment” in his home is not politically possible and probably it is not even being offered. Whatever “deal” he could make, at his age, he will be in prison for the rest of his life. Whatever deal he refuses, it is not likely to be onerous as prisons go, again because of his age and he and his family still have resources enough to make sure he is in a relatively comfortable prison.
When private citizens operate a Ponzi scheme they go to jail; when the government does it, it's called Social Security.

So we should give him credit for not being a ‘rat’.
There are no words for what he deserves as punishment.
...Update on FOX, the ripped are claiming Ruth is part of the cartel...
