Ingraham is naturally thin and I’m sure the ravages of cancer haven’t helped matters. I don’t think anyone wants to “go there” when it comes to Ingraham’s weight But, by the same token, that doesn’t give Ingraham license to be petty. They’re both beautiful, opinionated women. NEITHER of them appears to have much success in the man department, so perhaps they both need to take a step back and get an attitude adjustment.

Well, if Ingraham thinks it's OK to go there with Meghan, then she makes herself the same target. Cancer notwithstanding. Laura is naturally thin and Meghan is naturally thick (not fat in my opinion)... what's that have to do with the price of beans?

Laura is too mature of an age to stoop to rediculous and childish schoolyard attacks and Meghan needs to accept that she's not model thin and could be subjected to appearance attacks by her enemies. Balls up both of them.

Believe me, I’m not excusing Ingraham. And it isn’t just with Meghan McCain that she does this. I’ve had to tune out Ingraham on more than one occasion because she really does act like a high school “mean girl” at times. Sometimes it is because it is someone with whom she disagrees politically. Other times, it is just to be “funny”. I remember when she went into this anecdote about getting a pedicure and being repulsed that -gasp- she had to look at the fat hairy feet of the man sitting next to her.

I’m sorry, but the attacks on people’s looks aren’t becoming from a conservative, Catholic mom. She should leave that to the late night comedians. When she gets on her soapbox about how misguided the values of our girls have become, I want to give her a high five. And then she turns around and does her petty act and I am so disappointed in her.

Having said all that, the fact that she has “opened the door” with personal attacks, doesn’t mean we should respond in kind. I wouldn’t mock her looks and I do think, whether it is fair or not, the cancer affords her some immunity in that department. It is just a shame that motherhood and cancer has caused her to be more mature about such things. If anything, I would have hoped those major life changes would have made her more gracious.
