Wasn’t there a case years ago involving a farmer growing wheat for his own purposes? Wasn’t even selling it, but the government regulated him anyway...because they felt he affected commerce?

There are some local food coop groups (gardeners swapping veggies among themselves) that are being targeted because they aren’t buying their fair share of food basically and they don’t want this idea to catch on.

God forbid the puppets in government controlled by Food Ag companies let people GROW THEIR OWN FOOD.

Every Communist dictator in history has starved his people into submission.

This is how they will do it to us.

This isn’t about assuring food safety. It is about assuring food shortages.

I hope you aren't breathing because some of the molecules you exhale will eventually cross state lines.

This has little to do with food production, it has to do with controlling a population, us! If the government controls the food supplies, people an be easily shaped by the threat of hunger. If you are allowed to grow your own food independently of the government, you cannot be controlled.

I am going to ofer to plow as many gardens as possible for my neighbors this spring just to stick it in the eye of my masters!

>It calls for the creation of a(another government) Food Safety Administration to allow the government to regulate ... (anything - everything)

Stopped right there.

Nothing further needs to be read.

Michael Olson, host of the Food Chain radio show and author of “Metro Farm,” told WND the government should focus on regulating food production in countries such as China and Mexico rather than burdening small and organic farmers in the U.S. with overreaching regulations.

Mizzz Delauro, must be a congressional pawn for someone wanting another federal agency to enslave US citizens. Such an agency will find itself lots of work, but will be spitting in the wind. A great deal of our food is grown and processed outside the jurisdiction of Congress.

God bless you. I live in a neighborhood and I’m thinking of plowing up my yard just to tick them off.

Step1—Regulate crop production thereby causing prices to rise considerably.

Step 2—When prices soar put price controls on them.

Step 3—When farmers refuse to grow crops at a loss, confiscate their property.

Step 4—State farms now produce all and everyone lives happily ever after.

Right out of Hugo’s playbook.

Another reason that we have the 2nd Amendment, which allows the people to regulate the government when necessary.

I am so sick of this nonsense. By what right? If nothing else, why is it the federal government's business to bother stuff that is grown and stays in-state? If Monsanto is lobbying for this, let them regulate the devil out of Monsanto and the imports.
