Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, but John McCain snagged the nomination. This businessman and politician is keeping a critical eye on how things are shaping up in the presidency he wanted, and he shared his views on Thursday night's "Larry King Live." He gave a sharp critique of President Obama's performance and shared his thoughts on Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and stem-cell research. The following transcript is edited for brevity and clarity:

He certainly is.
He and his handlers are hurriedly and clumsily trying to “correct” our (“The Constitution is fundamentally flawed…”) nation.
The AIG bonus language was buried in the fine print of legislation.
That is likely the tip of alarming new laws that will surface in time out of legislation that our Congressmen did not have time to read before enacting.
The current emotional kneejerk by Congress to punish the recipients of the bonuses attempts to do damage to at least 3 separate contracts:
1. The contract between AIG and the employees who did whatever they did for the bonus.
2. Any agreement reached between AIG and the government officials that put the deal together.
3. The bail out the Congressmen put into law in the performance of their employment contract with their constituents.
I don’t see a lot of learning going on.

I really liked Romney in the debates. But he was out of contention by the time my state voted. So was Guiliani, my second choice.
I worked for McCain, and voted for McCain, and gave $$ to McCain, but Romney and Guiliani I really thought were better all-around candidates.
Oh, I don't know. Both, when elected, run to the left...
Mitt, and others, warned us earlier about Obama's inexperience. Nobody cared. Mitt expressed it well, again, last night:
This is a president who is learning on the fly. He's never turned anything around before. He hasn't had the experience of leading a nation or a business or a state in trouble. And the first rule I can tell him is focus, focus, focus. Focus on the job at hand, getting this economy going, and making sure there are no errors, no mistakes, no excessive spending. It's too risky, given the fact that the economy is hanging by a thread....
....But I can say in my view, Barack Obama is ripe for criticism. This AIG mess is certainly at his doorstep. The fact that he's not spending his time focusing on managing the economy, but is instead in Hollywood tonight and working on cap and trade and health care and other issues, diverting from the issue at hand, I think is certainly fair game to be discussed.

Romney looks like Reagan compared to the twits in the Congress who vote for Zero's 2009 budget. Despicable.

The thing Romney has going for him is he's been outside of it , and he is an experienced politician with good ties to the base. Take it or leave it, we're in sorry shape right now.
