New York's Working Families Party was first organized in 1998 by a coalition of labor unions, ACORN and other community organizations, members of the now-inactive national New Party, and a variety of public interest groups. The party blends a culture of political organizing with unionism, 1960s idealism, and tactical pragmatism. The party's main issue concerns are jobs, health care, education and energy/environment, and it has won notable policy gains at the city, county and state level by piggybacking on Democratic or Republican candidates.

As of 2006, the executive director of the WFP is Dan Cantor. The party's Co-Chairs are Sam Williams, UAW Region 9 CAP director; Bertha Lewis, ACORN's executive director; and Bob Master of the Communications Workers of America.
The WFP also has a powerful alliance with Dennis Rivera and Local 1199/SEIU (Service Employees International Union). The intensely activist union is known to contribute more than $100,000 a year of the party's $1.4 million annual budget.
Dan Cantor
Bertha Lewis
Lewis, 56, started down the road almost 20 years ago, fighting successfully for everything from squatters' rights to a higher minimum wage. In 1998, she helped found the union-allied Working Families Party.
Bob Master
Sam Williams, 45, who works at GM's Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan
Dennis Rivera is the Chair of SEIU Healthcare, the healthcare division of Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Notice the different font/typeface for the "AIG" in those signs?
This is nothing more than a rent-a-mob of people with pre-printed signs that can be modified to protest whatever the "capitalist enemy" of the day happens to be.
This is sort of like those Muslim protests you saw in Europe a couple of years ago . . . all of which seemed to have people carrying around signs in English -- with not a single sign to be seen in the native languages of the countries where the protests were held.

This is exactly why none of the companies should have been bailed out! I agree, I've never believe that the bailouts were justified, in the first place. Sure some big companies would have folded, and taken other companies with them, but businesses that (and people who) had not been stupid and dishonest, would have bought up the assets for pennies on the dollar.
This would have resulted in better management of the assets, and provided an object lesson for everybody.
Also, fraud charges should be aggressively pursued against the many who committed criminal acts to bring about this meltdown.

this is so sad!!!!!!
I read another article that failed to mention who paid for this BS. As it turns out American taxpayers did through ACORN

"while another elected official suggested they just "kill themselves". Others are recipients of emails suggesting "the firm's leaders "should be executed with piano wire around their necks."
I'd like the name of the official who told someone to commit suicide, myself... That's definitely someone who deserves a trip to a psychiatric hospital for being a danger to others by inciting violence/inciting what will probably become a riot.
It should be headed off at the pass RIGHT NOW. If these people committed a crime they should be tried in a court of law - according to our CONSTITUTION.
I know Obama, and the Congressional Members who are calling for their blood don't consider a pesky thing like the Constitution a problem, but the vast majority of the rest of this nation still believes fraud, corruption, etc... etc... are IMMORAL & CRIMINAL.
We need to demand a complete and total investigation perhaps run by the Congressional members who voted AGAINST the Bill of Attainder, and against the Bailouts, as well as elected representatives from the people???? (There has to be some kind of check and balance).
This action - along with the other actions of Congress in the last 59 or so days - at least - should be immediately suspended barring basic services prescribed by our Constitution.
Obama is not CARTER II -- Obama is NIXON II/CLINTON II -- make it a reality... IMPEACH OBAMA NOW FOR LIES TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, and investigate him for corruption, NOW.

I knew it!! I was watching some of the film today regarding the protestors outside of AIG .. and to me they just looked like ACORN people.
This is disgusting .. why doesn’t Obama get these people good jobs, instead of making them his ENFORCEMENT GOONS!

And .. in case anybody is paying attention .. or just happened to get a history book with the correct information in it .. these tactics are EXACTLY WHAT THE NAZIS DID IN GERMANY. Envy; mob ridicule; class warfare .. the seeds are all there.
This is really scary stuff. Obama taught these agitators .. and now they are his useful thugs!

One good thing coming out of this; companies will think long and hard before accepting bailout money in the future.
