Police say suspect behind two separate shootings involving officers
OAKLAND, Calif. - Four officers were in critical condition and a suspect dead on Saturday after gunfire at a traffic stop led to a massive manhunt that ended in a shootout, police said.
Two officers were shot in the first incident just after 1 p.m. after they stopped the suspect's vehicle in east Oakland, said Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason.
The suspect fled the scene on foot into a nearby neighborhood, police said, leading to an intense manhunt by dozens of Oakland police, California Highway Patrol officers and Alameda County sheriff deputies.
Streets were roped off and an entire area of east Oakland shut to traffic.

Actually Hispanics are the third largest ethnic group in Oakland after blacks and whites. Asians make up a little over 15% while Hispanics are over 20% of Oakland's population, but don't let me stop you, you're on a roll.

The motorcycle officers shooting sounds a lot like the shooting in Long Beach a few years ago, same sort of situation.

Oh, Arizona, unlike my former home state of California, has a zero tolerance for illegals with the exception of the police chief of Phoenix, but I don’t live down there. They have pretty much vacated my part of the state with the new verification laws and other laws we’ve passed that have been upheld by the SCOTUS.

I went to Oakland around 10 years ago. I remember thinking it seemed like inner-city environs. I also remember thinking, based on the people I saw, that it was predominately black. But... maybe it has changed in 10 years.
When I did a search on Lovelle Mixon, I got an article about the shooting that claimed there were at least 20 people taunting the police officers at the scene of the first shooting and that the local ministers were meeting at the hospital and planned to plead with the parishioners to stop the violence and not let this turn into a war zone.
Ya’ reeeeeally don’t wanna go there...;0)
