Whatever happened to de-linking the yuan from the dollar to start with, to level the economic playing field a little bit between us and China?

“A fiat currency controlled by the IMF.....versus a fiat currency controlled by the Fed.” I don't see any improvement. A global currency that is based upon gold, silver or oil would be an improvement, but it must be backed by a real, tangible asset.
