Someone a lot wiser that I once said that if you don’t stand for anything, you’ll fall for everything.

There were lots of clues during the election, of primary importance to me, was when Obama refused to wear an American flag lapel pin.

And that was just the beginning. The other clue that should have been a tip off for everybody was his espousing transparency when he wouldn’t show his birth certificate and had his educational records sealed. (Which, by the way, most likely would reveal that he was a foreign born student.)

There were more and more clues popping up as the campaign went along, but those two were principles of his dishonesty and lack of character.

It appears to follow the academic habit of alluding to the folktale in German in which there is no h in the noun:

hervorragend

“He’s doing exactly what he said he’d do”

Which is EXACTLY the point...

Most sheeple NEVER HEARD what he said he was going to, they heard what the MEDIA said he was going to do.

The Media HE was to bring them puppies and rainbows, free gas and mortgages, green jobs at UAW wages for EVERYBODY, bring us world respect, get even with those evil rich people, FREE healthcare.

He was going to stop the rise of the oceans and bring peace to the planet!!!

Obama told ANYONE who was listening what he was going to do. The problem is that the people whose job it is to TELL us what he was saying were too busy promoting thier own agendas to tell the sheeple the truth.

Now the American People are going to pay a TERRIBLE PRICE for thier failure.

I don’t care so much about his personal wisdom, he just needs to recognize that the multitudes who have gone before him are infinitely more wise that he could ever be.

Ah but to understand the mind of a moderate is to discover they consider themselves to be of higher intelligence or 'wisdom' and thus they can see things no one else can. And then they have a multitude of rational as to why they said/did what they say and do. They are the 'bi'- of the 'polar' that Rush aptly diagnosed the majority of Americans now suffer.

Thank you-I was aware of that-it’s just this guy in the article was speaking English. And in English, the “h” is used.

I speak some Japanese—if you said “kamikaze” to a Japanese and pronunced it “kamah-kozzy” as we do here-they wouldn’t know what you were saying-In Japanese the word is pronounced “kah-Mee-kah-zay”. I know all that but, if I said it to an American, I’d use the American pronunciation.

If this guy was writing in German (or Dutch, BTW) it was correct-but he wasn’t-and it wasn’t. That’s all I said.

Here’s Brooks’ full article.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/03/opinion/03brooks.html?_r=3&ref=opinion

So now let me ask, Mr. Brooks, how were you deceived by obama?

What is your character flaw that didn’t allow you to see through the charade that is obama, while we, the un-moderate, saw it all along?

How could you believe a man almost TOTALLY unvetted by the MSM and the public could do all he promised and more?

Didn’t you ever want to see his college transcripts? His real birth certificate? His passport? John McCain showed us what we wanted to see.

How did this happen to you and to millions of other Americans and just about everyone else in the world?

Was it wishful thinking?

The emperor didn’t have any clothes. I knew it. My wife knew it. FR knew it.

Why didn’t you do some digging into his background and see the kind of people he hung around with all his life?

Didn’t you notice that he seemed to have NO normal friends?

I would really like to know, Mr. Brooks, how this man was able to fool you and your moderates so well. You owe us that explanation.

And when he said he’d meet with Iran without preconditions?

Remember all the milquetoast RINOs on our side who kept thinking he’d “govern from the center” Seems rather quaint now, doesn’t it?

The article mirrors my view. How is the economy supposed to hit a 4% growth rate with all the dead weight now growing around it like a cement boot anchor? There is just no way from here to there and the market is just doing a dead cat bounce.

That has to do with the “unconstrained vision” - an individual can be capable of being widely better intellectually and morally than the masses,

and his articulated knowledge that he has at his command is considered to be superior to the unarticulated knowledge and best practices inherent in tradition, law, and the Constitution.

You’ll see this mindset all over the left. It’s WHY they are leftists and totalitarians.

I have no sympathy for them. The truth was plain as day, right in front of them, and they chose not to see it.

Those of us who consider ourselves moderates…are forced to confront the reality that Barack Obama is not who we thought he was.

And yet, he appears to be precisely who we thought he was.

Mr. Solway had his thesaurus open to the “M’s”. i.e. marmoreal; mirabile dictu. Impressive.

It (burger) simply means "citizen"

Ugh, I feel like a cannibal.

My dictionary does not have that definition.

There was a barf alert article a while back where someone was praising 0bama with lots of non-standard words & phrases.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2175189/posts

My first thought upon reading it was “homey swallowed a thesaurus”.

...You’ll see this mindset all over the left. It’s WHY they are leftists and totalitarians.

But the most essential peg for the formation of taking power by the left into totalitarianism is the willing accomplices of that high-minded moderate center. History is replete with example after example that it is the moderate elitist that soften the rough edges for public consumption the path to totalitarian rule.

It may even be printed that way in the book the writer was reading. There was a philosophy professor at our university, enthralled with Marcuse and various other Frankfurt School social theorists, who couldn't stop using the word "bürgerlich" (Adjective: civic, civil, bourgeois, middle-class"). Apparently considered the more elite term than "bourgeois" in certain circles. These linguistic games get confusing.

Seems rather quaint now, doesn’t it? Not the word I'd choose. I know some of these people - smart, hard working, patriotic, well educated - who just REFUSED to see obama for what he was. Now they have "buyers remorse". And my kids, and some day their kids, have an unpayable debt in a socialist country.
