If I could wave a magic wand and change anything about the good old U.S. of A. tomorrow I wouldn’t fix the economy or get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan. I wouldn’t wish away the Obama budget or Nancy Pelosi. I wouldn’t even mystically make our borders secure or stop the assault on the sanctity of human life. The one thing I would change is to give everyone in the country a massive dose of critical thinking skills. I would make it the number one priority of things to be taught in schools. I believe if I could fix this problem all the others would fix themselves.

Let me give you an example. On Sunday I was watching Fox News and one of the newsreaders was doing a piece on the drug war on our southern border. Part of this story was a short interview with the liberal New York Congresswoman Nita Lowey. Ms. Lowey hates the fact that you have the right to own a gun. Of course, she never came out and said that. Instead Ms. Lowey was faithfully reciting the administration talking points about the Mexican border drug war which includes the idea that the problem on our southern border is largely due to the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Here is how the logic goes: Drug cartels are coming into the United States and buying “assault“ weapons. If we would outlaw the legal sale of these guns to American citizens the problem would disappear! ...

I watched this interview with ATF agent Bill McMahon by Greta Van Susteren on FOXNews and found it almost laughable.

She doesn't really ask him any hard questions, and he doesn't give her any answers that are backed up by the facts, mostly just repeating the same allegations that thousands of guns from the US are going to Mexico every day. Yet they only have a few agents in Mexico and don't have the resources or the cooperation from the Mexican govt. to trace the serial numbers of these guns, so how can they say this stuff? In the crawler at the bottom, they quote the Mexican government's ESTIMATE about guns from the US going to Mexico.

The corrupt, inept (maybe the BATFAGS belong in Mexico?) BATFE SAYS something to the effect that, “of the guns traced in Mexico, 90% came from the U.S.”. This is translated, by left-wing anti-gun politicians, media, and groups like the Brady Bunch, into “90% OF GUNS USED BY VIOLENT MEXICAN CARTELS TRACED TO U.S.”. This is patently FALSE, and is nothing more than LIES and PROPAGANDA used by these left-wing, UN-AMERICAN maggots to further their gun-ban agenda. They have ADMITTED, that they should never let a good crisis (whether they manufactured it or not) go to waste, and that appears to be EXACTLY what they are doing here. They NEVER shy away from blaming AMERICA and AMERICANS for EVERY ill in the world, and either “apologize” for US in the form of words, or in this case, try and further their desired political and legal agenda - by speaking of banning entire classes of LEGAL (at this point, at least) firearms from the ownership (keeping) and use (bearing) of law-abiding American citizens. ANYONE with ANY sense KNOWS that the vast majority of these weapons are of foreign (read that, mainly COMMUNIST) manufacture. Our enemies (China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, terrorists, etc.) would LOVE to de-stabilize our Southern border, and if they can prompt our left-wing government to further restrict our rights and our way of life, then that would be an added benefit. Yes, there MAY be SOME guns going across the border (I recently saw a report on Fox which showed a big confiscation of goodies bound to, or already owned by, the Mex cartels, and it included two ORNATE SKEET/TRAP/HUNTING OVER/UNDER SHOTGUNS - NOT so-called “assault weapons”). These cartel kingpins are making MILLIONS, so they want to spend some of that on goodies like fine shotguns - so what? I would bet that MOST of the U.S,-made equipment and weapons are being STOLEN from the inept Mexican military, or sold by corrupt Mexican military and/or political types. I have also heard that the Mex government is NOT releasing serial numbers (so, the ONLY guns that the BATFAGS can “trace” are American-made civilian, not military, guns with accounted for serial numbers). The reason may be that the Mexicans are afraid of being embarassed by the fact that these weapons came from their own military, and/or, they are afraid we will cut off military weapons shipments to them for fear of them being sold or stolen. The violent cartels are using FULL-AUTO, MILITARY GRADE firearms, as well as GRENADES, ROCKET LAUNCHERS, etc. They are NOT coming to America to buy our SEMI-AUTOMATIC military LOOK-ALIKE weapons at gun shops and gun shows. That is PURE FANTASY which is being promulgated by the left-wing gun and freedom haters in America. This is all just LIBERAL DEMOCRAT, ANTI-GUN BULLSHIT designed to do what the Constitution says the government can NOT do, which is... INFRINGING ON OUR RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. If they keep it up, they will pay a HEAVY PRICE. The American people, yes, even some of the gun-owning fools that continue to vote liberal democrat, should NOT, and will NOT stand for it.

Well you can forget the public schools. Reminds me of something I heard in a Clint Eastwood movie, where he said "I get the job done!" and the woman replied, "They don't want the job done."

The govt does not want critical thinking skills in the sheeple. What I would change is the system of public education. Eradicate it.

Count on it. Set up by Holder, Biden, Clinton, etc - it will probably be an executive order because the dems in Congress do not want to touch the issue. My guess is an executive order banning automatic and semi-automatic weapons of every category, and requiring a federal license to buy ammo.
