A Month in the Life of George W Bush (news and photos): April 2009
www.yahoo.com/news www.georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news/ ^ | 1st April 2009 | Snugs

As we enter April 2009 we are being bombarded by the media hyping up the first 100 days of President Obama I thought it would be nice to look back at the first 100 days of George W Bush Presidency.

The White House Website for the Bush Administration had a photo essay for the first 100 days which I am sure will provoke fond memories.

At the weekend I will post photos covering the first 2 weeks of April 2001 which once again I am sure will make us all feel nostalgic for the President we supported, respected and trusted to keep us safe for the last 8 years. Later this month I will post photos from the second half of Aril 2001 plus a selection of other photos that I am sure will be breath of fresh air and produce fond memories.

First of all before the photos I will post the text of remarks that George W Bush made at a Congressional Luncheon marking the first 100 days of the Bush Adminstration - ah those were the days.

I will also post some photos I have found of the Bush family for March 2009 including some of the former First Lady.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

It’s hard to show off your fashion sense when you don’t actually have any.

Someone once told me that some middle aged women actually resent can come to resent their young, female children, especially if they are pretty, which hers are.

Just a thought. Not going negative on this lovely thread.

I would also add maybe you have a sense that no one dares speak out against any wrong or mistake in the Obama administration even when it violates somethings as precious as a church service and our very core values and beliefs. I would echo Bahbah words though Pip you are not alone and there any many others who feel and believe as you do and will support you.

I find it unbelievable with all the advisers and of course fashion designers lining up for Michelle to wear their clothes that she just does not seem to be able to dress in clothes that flatter her but instead make her look frumpy and non feminine.

Again like the recent incident(s) in London I suspect she is unwilling to listen and take advice. We often think we know best on what to wear but how many times have we all been surprised when we have followed a friend or colleague's advise how much better with look in a particular outfit that we would never have chosen our-self.

Oh Snugs! Your father looks so well cared for! How sweet of you to post his picture! I’m so glad you are both having a better go of it!

They have blamed the Bush administration for his gaffes in Europe. They said they weren’t informed well enough on foreign protocol!

She is also going to refer him to the Kent Association of the Blind who will advise us on what sort of reading lamp to purchase which will assist dad with reading. Apparently they advise on this sort of thing to all people with sight problems not just those who blind or partially sighted.

LOL! Those lens they use to check his vision are funny. They remind me of the goggles that the young Anakin Skywalker wore in Star Wars I.
That's great they were able to come to the house to do the exam. Check with the Kent Association to see if they have tape machines that play books. I think it's the Library of Congress, here in the US, that makes available tape machines and books to folks who are blind, with other sight impairments, and even people who are dyslexic, and have difficulty reading.

One of my homeschool Mom friends has a son who is dyslexic, and she was able to get some of his textbooks on tape, and that made his learning much easier.

Mr. Bush did not want pre-publicity because he did not want his appearance to lead to a distraction from the importance of the Road to Recovery bike ride going through Texas this week.

What a difference from both his predecessor, and his successor.

Thanks so much for continuing the threads.

As life calms down, I’d be willing to help you as need might arise.

I miss Pres and Laura Bush so much, sometimes I think it hurts!

snugs and all you wonderful Bush supporters who are keeping the A Month in the Life going -

This is a marvelous thread with much information that you can’t get anywhere unless you really, really search. It is such a pleasure to be able to see pictures - both new and old - of the President and First Lady (they are still exactly that to me, none of that former stuff).

It’s also nice to see all the names and read all the comments by people I’ve come to know through the Dose. Thanks to all of you for keeping the rest of the “world” up to date and informed.

Especially, thanks to snugs for all her work and for keeping all of us up to date on how her Dad is fairing. Many prayers have been lifted and continue for his well being.

“Horse hockey!”

LOL! Well put, SuzieQ! :-)

Did you see this posted by DrDeb? I signed up for it, and am looking forward to its completion (it says by summer). With all going on in the world, it would be good to hear the truth about the events.

FORMER AIDES COME TO GEORGE W BUSH’S DEFENSE
March 28, 2009 01:11 PM ET
By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers

They knew the dissing of W was coming, since both presidential candidates used former President Bush as a punching bag last year. So when Barack Obama took over, some Bushies vowed to play defense when W’s record was maligned. Thus was born http://www.43alumni.com , an online community of former Bush team members. “In the age of Facebook,” says Bush spokesman Rob Saliterman, “it made sense to create the page to stay in touch with each other.” Besides networking, 43alumni will be countering stories about Bush that his team feels are unfair. A section called Setting the Record Straight, says Saliterman, “will be responding to misleading and inaccurate comments about the president’s record.” The site is still under construction but will be up and running by summer. It will be funded with dues paid by Bushies.

[We must become involved with this site when it becomes functional!]

While looking through the pictures of President and Mrs. Bush on this thread I actually forgot, for a moment in time, that they were no longer the First Couple. What a terrible feeling it was to be jolted back into the reality that exists today.

I slept so very well with President Bush at the helm, and I was never ashamed of how First Lady Laura Bush presented herself in both her manner and clothing.

Hello Truthie, great to hear from you I was only thinking about you yesterday when I prepared the set of photos for the dose or rather dug them out from my file archive.

Amongst them I found a special set that I posted for you which even at that time were archive photos but you wondered if I had any of them as you could not find any yourself, remeber them?
