N. Korea deploys advanced fighter jets ahead of rocket launch: official

By Sam Kim

SEOUL, April 2 (Yonhap) -- North Korea has deployed a fleet of MiG-23 fighter jets along the east coast where it is gearing up to launch a rocket to send what it claims is a "satellite" into orbit, a senior Air Force official said Thursday.

The latest relocation of the advanced fighter jets comes as the communist North steps up its warnings against any foreign attempt to intercept its rocket.

South Korea, Japan and the U.S. maintain the launch will likely be a disguised test of a ballistic missile capable of hitting Alaska and have warned it will trigger U.N. sanctions.

The three countries have deployed their Aegis-guided destroyers in the East Sea while the North's military said it will strike back at "any minor attempt" to interfere with the launch.

"We are closely monitoring the movement of the jets," the official said by phone, speaking on condition of anonymity and declining to share further information because he feared it would expose the South Korean monitoring capabilities.

This tells you one thing: They are not expecting that their launch site would not be attacked. If they are, they will actually hide their jets. Their jets have no chance against their enemy: air force of S. Korea/U.S./Japan.

This is purely a publicity stunt.

I am in favor of finally dealing with this long festering situation . They launch , we knock it out , their move .
If they launch any attacks what-so-ever I say we nuke their rotten little asses and call it a done deal.
We must have a class of nuke that is fairly low yield , that we could walk all over every military site on their fleabag
little country . It’s time the world put the foot down on these mouthy little $hits . They are the ones that should take orders , not give them.
This is what happens when wars are not concluded in VICTORY!

Well, I was thinking the wreckage would make a nice habitat for the marine life should they get that far.

Stop worrying. Obama said that tiny countries like North Korea don’t pose a serious threat to us.

SK has the F-15K. The M-23 is no match, the M-29 in capable hands may be a bit of a problem, but somehow, I doubt it.

NK pilots have precious little training flight.

A year or two ago, top Chinese official visited N. Korea. He brought some gift(aids.) One of the biggest gifts was jet fuel.

I think Chia Head values a year supply of jet fuel for a fighter squadron more than one million ton of grain aids.

A mighty NK MiG-23 before engaging an F-15/16/18/22...

...and after

Like the Soviets, the DPRK holds on to everything: They still have their MiG-15s/19’s/21’s, their T-34 tanks, etc..
