Good summation. I also agree with your statement on your FR Homepage.

Islam is a religion straight out of hell!

Most Christians believe that the bible is allegorical.

Wrong again. Where did you pull that out of? And where is your evidence for it?

Is this Benny Hinn?

“But, interestingly, he does not say that the food and drink provided the escaping Israelites by God was an allegory of the spiritual food and drink given to us by God. “

Allegories don’t usually self-identify as such.

Paul was commenting on the stories of scripture as having happened as examples for us. Unless Paul is an allegory, too. But, then, an allegory of what?

You’re awfully cheeky for a newbie. Check back with me when your testicles drop.

Gee, I thought they dropped over 40 years ago, but I better check in case my wife crushed them last night. Good thing the Bible is only a bunch of stories and allegorical theories, or I might not be allowed in the presence of God.

"He who is emasculated by crushing or mutilation shall not enter the assembly of the LORD.---Deuteronomy 23:1

But then again, I believe in Jesus who was real and not just an allegory about an idea to make a point. I even believe he fulfilled the Scriptures so that even if my wife did crush my testicals I could enter into His presence.

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.----Matthew 5:17

So I am very pleased and happy that you are wrong and I am right about the truth of the Scriptures,

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.----Hebrews 4:12

You really should trust the word because,

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,----2Timothy 3:16

However it is imperative to remember that,

He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.----1John 5:10

Finally I will leave you with this thought. If you do not accept the Bible as the inerrant word of God and true in all it says then you are truly confused by the world's lies,

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.----2Thessalonians 2:11-2

You are free to believe whatever you want. I just don’t want you teaching science. I do not believe that Jesus was allegorical, as you implied.

Good to hear about your testicles, though.

Glad to know you are pleased about my dropping. LOL

But if you have children they are already being preached to by religious zealots. They just call themselves teachers of Global Warming, and Al Gore is their God. They are also being taught about socialism, homosexuality, and any of a number of other religious concepts.

It would seem that a scientist that has very well substantiated studies that have yet to be disproved should be given as much chance to teach your children as the religious zealots that are doing it now.

If the only problem you have is with their idea that God created everything, well then you know they will grow up to love this country, dislike the gay agenda, dislike socialism, and learn that Al Gore did not invent the internet and that his global warming scheme is just another idea to take money away from their parents.

You draw the same baseless conclusions as the other YECs. Since I subscribe to the theory of evolution, you therefore conclude that:
- I believe Al Gore is right
- I don’t believe that creation starts with God
- I’m OK with teaching liberal orthodoxy in school.

You would be wrong on all points.

I never said that.

I said because you would not want the scientist, that really do know what they are talking about, teaching your children.

So I said, what would the difference be. They are already being taught all the other crap.

At least with these scientist they will get the truth on everything else.

One more thing, that was a partial list. I really do not have time to list them all and besides I am not sure I could find all the names. These are just the ones who have been in the limelight of the debate.

I have a friend who is an electrical engineer with an IQ of about 170 and he is not on any lists. He is a science instructor at a high school back in Virginia. They know what he believes, but he knows that if he wanted to make news about his beliefs he would probably get fired.

To him the ability to teach children the truth is better then a dog fight in the media.

So my question remains. Where did Adam come from?

Remember this is a question only for those who claim to be Christian and accept evolution as the way God brought about averything.

"First they were created in potency through the word of God and inserted seminally into the world when He created all things together, after which He rested from these works on the seventh day. From these creatures all things are made, each at its own proper time throughout the course of history."
St Augustine of Hippo
The Literal Meaning of Genesis, Book 6, Chapter 5

St. Augustine knew even then that a simplistic reading of Genesis 1-3 did not comport with what was known and seen, nor was it even internally consistent. He spent 15 years of his life trying to figure out what the text really meant. I recommend his book in 12 volumes. There's an English translation: ISBN 0-8091-0326-5

This was posted earlier. How can you deride science, yet claim a "win" when a scientist accepts biblical creation? Anyway, most scienttists reject biblical creation, just as most Christians do.

Anyway, most scienttists reject biblical creation, just as most Christians do.

Depending upon which poll you read the most any poll has ever come up with is 40% Christians believe in Theistic evolution. How does that make it a majority of Christians?

By the way that was a MSNBC poll, if you really want to believe it then you must believe their others polls that says 50 % of republicans believe Obama is doing a good job. Or any of their other lame polls.

I will accept the pew poll that said 30% of Christians believe in Theistic Evolution. That leaves 70% of Christians who believe the 7 day creation story of Scriptures. Sorry but that does not equate to a majority of Christians believing God made monkey and the monkey became man.

I do agree that a majority of scientists believe in evolution, that is uncontested. However if you look at the same list of scientists that are in the debate on this, you will notice that most of them also believe in global warming and that it is caused by man.

You sure you want to put your trust in a bunch of men who believe something that cannot be proved? What does that say about their credibility on the TToE vs ID debate?
