I have yet to find anyone under the age of 40 who doesn't confuse or conflate Vietnam with War-II, let alone Korea. Hell, I cain't hardly find anyone who can find it on a map.
To paraphrase another of my generation, if our current K through 12 education system were forced on us by an outside country, it would be considered an act of war.

One example of the comparison. WWII ended a few years before I was born and I remember the Korean war although I was a bit young to remember any specifics. Still, looking back at both they seem a hundred years ago. Neither impacted my professors in college but maybe that was because the Vietnam war was starting up. Still, time makes it harder for young people to remember it well. That’s why I try to remind everyone, myself included, of our history.
