FBI raids Mpls. money-transfer business (Guess Who!!)

Federal agents searched three money-transfer businesses in Minneapolis on Wednesday, carrying away boxes of documents and copying computer hard drives in a quest for details of financial transactions between the U.S. and several African nations.
Agents searched Mustaqbal Express, also known as North American Money Transfer Inc.; Quran Express; and Aaran Financial.
FBI spokesman E.K. Wilson confirmed the searches but wouldn't elaborate on the reason.

I am surprised that the Mayor of Minneapolis allowed these raids.
He won’t allow his police department to investigate the immigration status of hispanics and others after they have been arrested and incarcerated.

The system of money transfers that Muslim countries use is called “hawala”.
Al-Qaeda and other terror groups have used hawala in the past as a means to move and launder money that was later used for terror operations.
A couple years ago, several of these money transfer shops were raided by the FBI but I can’t recall if they found anything or not.
