I’m just a stupid citizen, but it’s beyond me why the government doesn’t dump a load of counterfeit or marked bills on these pirates.
And then what? They take the marked bills back to their third world sewer and live high on the hog. The Navy should keep a ship between them and the shore and make it clear that the pirates aren't going anywhere unless the captain is released. If the captian goes free, then they go free. If the captain dies, then they die. No ransom. No bargains. Live or die, that's the only choice. Forget talk about 'bringing them to justice' because there isn't any justice in Somalia and international law about trying them is so vague as to be worthless. Make it simple enough for their 9 volt brains to comprehend. Give up the capain, and live. Kill the captain, and die. No more, no less.

Those were my thoughts, as well. Give them a sack of fake bills, escort the hostages to safety, and blow the bad guys outta the water.
Great idea. As we see in the movies, all the time, take some of the crap money we get from North Korea or China, run it in the dryer for a bit to fluff it up, give it to these a$$holes. Give them gas to get home and a "Safe Passage Home Certificate" and all the rest.
Once they release the Captain, then totally "splash" the a$$holes in the boat. The Indian Ocean fish need more food, bitter as it might be.
