I've visited this theme before, but it is becoming clearer and clearer to me that the GOP is out to destroy Sarah Palin. The reason for this is simple: None of them want to run against her in 2012. Republicans in her state want to grab power for themselves.

Protect your kids by removing them from the media spotlight altogether, not by fighting it out in the tabloids. That simply feeds the next news cycle.
One of my friends said that it's like when Hollywood actors get divorced and fight their custody battles in public (she gave several specific examples, but I can only think of Kim Bassinger & Alex Baldwin & am blanking on the others).
It's simply something you should not do. Yes, it takes a lot of restraint not to do it, and yes, it will be difficult. But if you can't do it, what are you doing in politics (or public life) to begin with?
I agree - Palin sparring with an 18 year old who knocked up her daughter only fuels the fire. She should just politely no comment and ask people to respect her family’s privacy. While I do think she knew her daughter was knocking boots, I do think she assumed her daughter was being safe. Now that this debacle is over, she needs to just focus on being a good governor and learning the issues. While I’m no fan of Palin, I do respect her pending candidacy and giving it a whirl.

Oh, yeah. I almost forgot: This is the same US Weekly magazine (^) that Palin supporters were all bent out of shape over back in early autumn when the magazine slammed her mercilessly.
Apparently, it's good enough for the Palins to give interviews with now, though.
