It wasn't a weather balloon, it was a high altitude collector, used to sample air for evidence of nuclear weapons activity over the Soviet Union. There are reports as well as photos of the debris that leave no doubt what it was, down to the children's scotch tape that was used as a quick repair on a non critical part of the device. ET nuts have claimed this was alien hieroglyphics. ET people want to believe aliens instead of a far more plausible story, and no amount of evidence released by the government is going to convince them otherwise.
Absolutely right. Mitchell is a brilliant scientist and was one hell of an aviator and astronaut who has served his country with distinction. These media twits just can’t stand someone of such character and accomplishment....
