General who probed Abu Ghraib says Bush officials committed war crimes

WASHINGTON — The Army general who led the investigation into prisoner abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison accused the Bush administration Wednesday of committing "war crimes" and called for those responsible to be held to account. The remarks by Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba, who's now retired, came in a new report that found that U.S. personnel tortured and abused detainees in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, using beatings, electrical shocks, sexual humiliation and other cruel practices.

"After years of disclosures by government investigations, media accounts and reports from human rights organizations, there is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes," Taguba wrote. "The only question that remains to be answered is whether those who ordered the use of torture will be held to account."

Taguba, whose 2004 investigation documented chilling abuses at Abu Ghraib, is thought to be the most senior official to have accused the administration of war crimes. "The commander in chief and those under him authorized a systematic regime of torture," he wrote.

A White House spokeswoman, Kate Starr, had no comment.

Taguba didn't respond to a request for further comment relayed via a spokesman.

Kind of interesting that they kept Gates as Secretary of Defense.

I am past the point of being fed up with these sissies. This is political and how did that man become a general in the first place?

All this is doing is paving a path to our demise. The Liberals want this, but do not have sense enough to see they are hated by the Islamist Fascist, also.

CAIR and other groups use the Left to further their cause. They both hate America, but there is one main difference, the Islamic Fascist will use violence in the end to take control.

“Bush Officials Committed War Crimes”

War crimes took place at bus stops with the detonation of explosive devices intended to kill innocent civilians. War crimes took place in dark, dank, dirty chambers where unarmed humans had their heads cut off by muslim extremists.
War crimes took place when innocent civilians were killed in the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

War crimes took place throughout Asia and Europe when Communism was in full bloom, killing its enemies, starving innocent people into submission, and “liquidating” those who were disloyal.

Yet, one will never hear a peep from s0-called American congress people about atrocities that murdered people, maimed many more, and destroyed the lives of countless others.

It’s almost as if it never happened. Yet, they want to send an ex-president and vice president to jail for having committed “war crimes” in the prosecution of a defense against more war crimes and atrocities.

These people are either absolutely insane or complicit.

IMHO

I guess this is what Obama means about “bringing America together.”

I guess we have to take a look at Honest Abe and count up how many CRIMES against the CONSTITUTION he was responsible for?

Abe is always in the top three listed as the GREATEST PRESIDENT.

Yet he violated the US CONSTITUTION more often than any President in history.

Agree or disagree he accomplished his goal to keep America UNITED.

Bush accomplished his goal also.....KEEPING the US safe from another attack on our soil.

By the LEFT's definition of TORTURE [Staring at someone for an extended period of time] or mine, it was worth it!
