(UAW)...“Union officials out of touch with rank and file ”
...DICK ARMEY'S...FREEDOM WORKS ^ | 10-24-2006 | MIKE WESTFALL

Posted on 05/02/2009 7:18:22 AM PDT by carolgr

Top UAW officials preach that all of labor’s problems are the fault of Republicans. They are tightly connected to the Democratic Party. When Dick Armey, Chairman of Freedom Works, talks of Michigan’s Democratic Governor Granholm’s appalling economic record for Michigan, he brings up Michigan’s unemployment rate, which is the worst in the nation. Under Granholm, hard-pressed Michigan tax payers doled out $40,000 in government funds to the Triangle Foundation. Gary Glenn, Michigan’s American Family Association President, said this is subsidizing a homosexual activist group hostile to the values of most Michigan families. They are a group who campaigned against protecting marriage, who defends sexual torture demonstrations and supports handing out condoms to elementary school kids. Glenn said this group viciously attacks Christians, traditional family values, the Boy Scouts and the staff of this group and raises money at the Detroit Bondage Club by being stripped, tied to a cross and flogged. Unlike their predecessors, today’s (UAW) officials have become disconnected from their Judeo-Christian workforce. One only has to view the employment condition compared to even twenty years ago to see that they have been ineffectual and detached from their true purpose of protecting their workers and retirees. They are forcing anti-family concepts such as same sex marriage and abortion onto the backs of their Judeo-Christian workforce. They then use their substantial political power and influence to deliver their memberships votes to the feet of the Democrats who in turn work legislatively to institute these anti-family cultural changes. If you want to know where your jobs have gone, talk to the Democrats. During Clinton’s tenure hundreds of thousands of well-paid American jobs were transferred to third world nations to exploited foreign workers paid shamefully low wages. He firmly supported NAFTA, which eliminated untold numbers of US jobs…

“Union officials out of touch with rank and file ”

Funny how “smart” these clowns get AFTER they are out of office...the union officials AND the management AGREED to these contracts for decades. So there is PLENTY of fault to go around. Now, the manufacturing base and the Middle Class are slowly but surely fading away and within the next hundred years America will be just another Banana Republic.

Who says “Communism is dead!”

Marx, Lenin & Stalin must be laughing in their graves...and it has all happened without firing one Commie shot on American soil.

This is pretty much what I’ve been saying all along. Reagan understood it and created the core of the Reagan Democrats out of union members.

I agree.
These UAW officials began betraying their membership especially when this present UAW regime took office around 2001.
Autoworkers are now left with devastated wages and benefits while their hard-pressed auto retirees have seen their health care benefits sliced from them.
Now these UAW officials have become over-paid corporate facilitators who keep the workers under control and oversee the billions of dollars in the retiree health care program. The retirees are in deep trouble.

Unions have destroyed many a business in this country just like what they have done to the automobile manufacturers. Unions have become a disaster. They are now the problem not the cure. They have become overbearing and intolerant and bullying. In fact, unions have become a lot more dangerous than management now and who would ever think that would happen!

Union bosses only care for themselves, their own jobs and their own salaries. They care not for their members at all.

The problem I have in my school right now is that the union is a necessity because of ... let’s just say “issues” ... but I don’t need the cure to be worse than the disease.
