The campaign between Sen. John McCain and Chris Simcox is likely turn into a fight over who’s the real Republican.

While Simcox has questioned McCain’s conservative credentials, turns out the activist has not exactly been a loyal member of the party from which he is now seeking a nod of approval.

Don’t look now, but being a “Republican” isn’t what it was 25 years ago. Maybe McCain is more “Republican” than Simcox.

I haven't left, but I have been considering it.

"Move to where?", is the question I keep asking myself. I'm not comfortable being an Independent or a Libertarian.

Sarah is a lifelong Republican.

So is Juan McShame.

Party affiliation is bull scat !

Principles of belief are far more important.

Juan McShame has no principles nor values that I admire.

Out of curiosity, which bill was “their bill”?

If McPain has no worries, it’s because of the Arizona GOP and the people of the state of Maricopa.

Most of the state reps from Maricopa Co are conservative, I think the real problem is the folks in Pima and Yavapai Cos

I’ve thought about that too. I’m up in the air as to what to do.

What I do know that I’m as mad as heck at both parties.

That’s all well and good but the Electoral College only supports a two party system. That’s my understanding anyway. We would need to get rid of that first so the popular vote would take effect.

The Arizona Star is a leftwing rag that can be depended upon to support McCain. The Arizona Republic, the states largest paper which has recently moved well to the left, will almost surely follow suit.

I haven’t voted for McCrazy in his last 2 senatorial elections, I’ve left it blank.

I voted for him in the presidential election because of my real, and now confirmed, fear of the BO Marxist.

I won’t vote for McCrazy. Might have trouble voting for Simcox, he’s a felon and under a cloud for embezzlement from the Minutemen. It’s easy to become a felon these days, so need to know what he’s convicted of. Not sure we’ll learn about the embezzlement thing, suspect they’d write it off to avoid the distraction from their important message. Waiting to see more of the truth of those issues.

Looking hard at Jim Deakin for the senate seat. He’s on the correct side of the issues and is a businessman, so knows what it’s like out here in the trenches. http://www.jimdeakin.com/ Have met and talked with him three times (at gun shows and the Tucson tea party). He, his wife, and daughter are genuine and absolutely apalled at what BO is doing.

J.D. Hayworth is also a possibility if he runs.

All I know is that if whoever it is voted for the stimulus or bailouts, I won’t vote for them. Period, end of story.

IS that the best they are doing? He used to be a registered Independant, so he cant become a Republican? Hell, my Governor used to be a Democrat, yet he’s been a Republican Gov since GW took the White House. McCain is such a jerk.

When we say we want loyalty, its to Conservatism, not to the Republican Party.

Why does it matter if he is a lifelong member of the GOP? Isnt that what we are trying to fight, people who have been somewhere so long they have become stale.

And also, which characteristic of lifelong Republicans do you want? If he is a lifer that is conservative, that is good. But, if he is a country club lifer, then I say get someone else.

Actually, we would just need to make sure there are more liberal parties than Conservative ones, so that their states get divvied up more and their power is watered down.

“Sarah is a lifelong Republican.”

And, unfortunately, she’s pro-amnesty, just like McCain. I hope folks around here don’t start pushing hard for her in 2012. She won’t get my support any more than McCain did.
