Assailin' Palin: Complaints deluge gov.
Politico ^ | 5/3/09 | ANDY BARR

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s life has changed in a myriad of ways since she became the Republican vice presidential nominee last August, but one aspect of her newfound fame has been more bracing than the others: Since entering the national spotlight, Palin has been inundated by ethics complaints, most of them filed against her after she agreed to become Sen. John McCain’s running mate.

The complaints run the gamut, ranging from the governor’s use of state funds and staff to the workings of her political action committee and even to a jacket she wore to a snow machine race involving her husband.

Nice attempt by Politico to make the ethics complaints seem legitimate, complete with quote from Andree McLeod.

Might be a blessing in disguise for us. If she can take all this heat and still come out smelling like a rose, we’ll know exactly what we’re voting for. Thank you MSM for thoroughly vetting our candidate for us. That’s more than you do for your own.

They are all doing this to try to discredit her in 2012 which is laughable because 0bama is going to be so hated by then and the Demonrats are going to own everything they are doing right now that it is going to be taken for what it is. But they are going to extraordinary lengths when there are A LOT more damaging things on 0bama and then some.

All of theses ethics complaints are orchestrated and politically motivated. Politico knows it.

Common LeftWing, LibTard, Attack-dog tactics. Keep shoveling the crap, and maybe something will stick.
The Pubbies need to learn and apply that same trick, IMO.

And, I do wish writers would learn the proper usage of the word ‘myriad’...

Didn't read that way to me. The article made it seem like this was a witch hunt. In fact, for the Politico, I'd say it's a pretty balanced piece

remember that President Bush was attacked on a daily basis for eight years by one or another left-sided entity. After a steady dose of usually off-base criticisms, the accumulated propaganda took affect and the President became damaged goods. The left is very smart in their ways of destroying those whom they dislike. They will minimize Palin in the same manner they did Bush, if her friends let them own the battlefield.

Politico is so easily misled. This Andrée McLeod is hardly a "watchdog" ~ she supposedly fell out with Governor Palin years ago over a burning issue in Alaska ~ a grass ordinance (/sarc).

McCleod wanted to cut the grass in Wasilla, the Governor and virtually everyone else in Alaska didn't care to bother because by the time the grass gets high enough to cut it's time to bring out the snow machines and post the NO PARKING signs on the sides of the roads.

Winter comes early in Alaska.

Politico should check in with the shrinks again ~ his paranoia about pregnant women is showing again. Next he'll be upset with some woman defiling his shadow by stepping across it and displaying what he imagines are "pudenda".

This is what happens to good people who stand their ground act on character, rather that what’s PC at the moment. No wonder there’s such a dearth of good candidates for the GOP. They know the leftist media will go on the attack. And it never seems enough just to attack the candidate; they go after their families as well. America is so badly f***ed up right now I have now idea as to how it’s ever going to recover.

"I have now idea as to how it’s ever going to recover.

A good start would be in not patronizing the leftist media.

File as many complaints as possible, regardless of merit and then later claim that there has to be something to the complaints because there are so many of them. Typical Liberal tactic.

All of theses ethics complaints are orchestrated and politically motivated.

And the instigators are from the opposition party, as well as from the 'moderates' in her own party.

Dems and 'moderate' Republicans know she could shake up the election, so they are trying to 'take her out' early.

The left... and politico is LEFT BIGTIME... did ALL of these same things to Reagan... and Reagan crushed them for it... Palin will do the same.

“There is only one successor to my Father’s legacy... and that is Sarah Palin”... on Sean Hannity’s show.

Michael Reagan”

Good enough for me!

“self-described government watchdog Andrée McLeod”

Perhaps a more appropriate description of McLeod is a disgruntled ex-fed employee who was denied employment by the Palin admin.

The only way I can see to stop this is to target, expose, marginalize the person leading the attacks. Put them in the negative spotlight. Surely those attacking her are not perfect. Must be some skeletons in their closets. We need a FBI=Freeper Base of Investigation.

If she can take all this heat and still come out smelling like a rose,...

*****

It is the constant drumbeat of “unethical” that does the damage. It isn’t even personal, “it’s just business” as any mobster would say.

The democrats have been winning with this tactic for years. And Republicans continue to fold from the pressure.

Example: Tom DeLay, a Very effective member of Congressional leadership was hounded out of the House, and Still has not had a trial on what were the so-called “egregious” ethics violations.

Our side need to learn not to fold. To take the example of Dem leadership, such as Schumer, Frank, Reid, Pelosi, who basically walk around with their middle finger stuck up in the air whenever they are challenged on anything that could be an ethics problem.
