I don’t have access to that information but Stage 4 is not necessarily an immediate death sentence, it’s not a day at the beach.

My hubby who died in 2006 from liver cancer had taken the prednisone in the 70’s for Hodgkin's Disease. Prednisone was such a new drug that we had to sign consent forms for him to take it. He only took it for about 3 months and he was cured but he gained about 100 lbs which was very hard to lose. Then in April, 2006, he had lost about 60 lbs and his dumb-o dr here who was an oncologist said it had nothing to do with cancer. My daughter and I finally took him to B’ham and they did a simple ct-scan and found a tumor 5x5x5 on his liver. They gave him 6 months but he died on 8 July 2006. Our younger daughter was told she had Crohn’s Disease when she was about 18-20 and the drug of choice was prednisone which caused her to gain a whole lot of weight. She had so many complications from the Crohn’s that she died on 15 Jan 2004. I still miss them with all of my heart and would take them back, severe weight gain and all!

When I was 2 my nephew was born. His right leg was crooked from the knee down. It was turned toward the back. He had to have it amputated when he was just a toddler but that never stopped him from doing what he wanted to do. He would go to the swimming pool, take his leg off, jump in and have fun just like all of the other kids. We never treated him any differently than the others and if he did something wrong, he got punished by my parents who helped raise him while his parents worked. My favorite story about him is when he was in high school. The school had a new principal and one day one of my nephew's friends came running up to him and said that my nephew had broken off his foot! The guy was scared to death because he did not have a clue as to what was going on. Another favorite story was when he was very young and was in a Memphis hospital. Roy Rogers, Dale Evans and their group came to see the kids one day. One of the guys with them asked my nephew who his favorite cowboy was expecting him to say Roy, of course. His reply kind of stunned them when he said Hopalong! They did give him and the others a replica of Trigger which he kept until he was married and had kids. He brought it over to my parents’ for safe keeping and my mom did not know what happened to it after that.

Most people know when someone is on prednisone for the shape of the head even if the weight gain does not. I am just so greatful that we had them as long as we did but that does not stop the tears from flowing even after all these years.

Almost from the beginning, I thought EE was every bit as bad as her husband. Yes, to be sure, we all feel bad about her personal health problems and we truly wish her full recovery from those, but, on the political stage, she was every bit the liar he was, and, maybe even the brains behind some of those lies. Even now, in calling the Reille woman, ‘pathetic,’ she again shows her refusal to acknowledge the truth. If anyone here is pathetic, it is John Edwards. And coming in a close second is Elizabeth Edwards, herself.

after their 16 yr old son died, she shot her 49 yr old body full of hormones to carry an implanted embryo (his sperm no doubt) to give him another son

when she had a girl, she did it again at age 50 and finally gave him another son. Apparently “someone” was too narcissistic to adopt

I would suspect this screwed up her metabolism pretty badly and may even have led to her cancer

She used be a quite beautiful woman, then life hit her from all directions. It’s a terrible fate that led her to where her path will end, hooked up to this historical lying cheating loser who will end up raising those darling kids

Thanks for including that. I think she made a tremendous sacrifice to give her husband another son after their first died. From what I understand, a woman’s body has to be flooded with hormones to carry a child when the woman is approaching 50. I’ve often wondered if her breast cancer wasn’t caused by that onslaught of hormones.

I feel sorry for her — battling stage IV cancer and learning that your husband fathered another woman’s child. (And I do believe that she knows the baby is his.)

What can she do in her circumstances other than stand by her man? With two small children at least she has a more valid reason than the craven rationale Hillary had to stick with her cheating spouse. She knows she isn’t long for this world and the best sacrifice she can make for her children is to make whatever time they have left with her as pleasant as possible. Those memories will have to do them for the rest of their lives.

I agree. I think she has made many sacrifices.

She’s been criticized for going along with JE’s run for president, but really — what else was she supposed to do? She was dying of cancer and she didn’t want to lose him. I think what he did to her is despicable. I really can’t find any fault with her. My hear goes out to her.

And yes, she’s a long way from Hillary.
