While I can appreciate Nugent's music and politics, I just can't get beyond the fact that he was banging some other chick while married.

For that in itself, I wouldn't support him for dog-catcher.

Nugent would have a real tough time winning a senate race in either Texas or Michigan. His views aren't his problem, but his mouth (which is good for celebrity) and his past, which would turn off a LOT of social conservatives if they knew it. I won't post it here, but Ted admitted to it himself.

He's good where he is, as a guitar player, pundit, and hunting organization.

You tell ‘em Ted.

On a personal note, anyone that attacks ME or MY FAMILY will be DRT - Dead Right There. As will be anyone that attempts to deprive me of the ability to defend myself or my family.

And the libtards can sling snot and/or stomp hankies for all I care.

I would vote for Ted Nugent without a second thought! He could make the Senate very interesting!

This is precisely why we keep getting wishy-washy RINO’s. You people that let a single fault overwhelm an otherwise good choice.

Ye that is without sin cast the first stone.

We can pick for perfection AFTER we halt the long slide downward.

Granted, there isn't much Ted hasn't done. That goes for most of us who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s. It's just another good reason to vote for him. He knows BS when he hears it!

So, please tell me the difference between a wishy-washy RINO and a wishy-washy Conservative?

His infidelty is definitely an important issue for many conservatives. It does tell a bit about TRUST, does it not?

Personally, I don;t give a rats-ass to be associated with the Republican Party, especially if the best they can do is Ted Nugent.

Better to have Nugent in the trenches of the R2/CW2.

Ted didn’t ever do drugs. That’s a pretty tall order for a rock star in the 70s.

I don’t care much about the GOP either. I want to vote for Conservative Party candidates, if we can find some that have a chance to be elected.

The point is, is that we need to act more like the liberals: in tactics and strategy; not ideology.

Incrementalism DOES work. We need to apply it to OUR purposes. Instead, we demand such purity from our candidates, we never have a chance to even get to the starting gate.

All have sinned, and fall short of the glory.

We MUST take back the reins of power first, THEN we can reverse the creeping socialism that has gripped much of the population. Once that happens, we can then concentrate on getting the absolute best candidates. We start that on a local and state level. We protest the excesses of the Feds, and thwart them wherever possible, by whatever means are available and necessary. We need to vote OUT all those libtards and RINOs that are eating away at this Nation like a cancer. As a final resolution, we must be willing to take up arms and forcibly remove those would-be tyrants from their lofty thrones of power

We MUST quit expecting perfection and start doing what is possible. The GOP is not my idea of perfection either, but a 3rd party, at this particular moment in history, is a pipe dream. The deck is stacked against us, and we have to win FIRST, before we can unstack that deck.

Clee1;
I agree with you. One of the reasons that we have the present government is precisely the attitude that some on this board have espoused. “There isn't anyone that is conservative enough, so its best to be “ruled” by the most liberal candidate ever elected in this country.” The Senate, because of the power of the filibuster, must be the Conservative’s first goal. And that means getting the most conservative candidate that is electable, not some mystical creature that is to the right of me. We must think strategically and as you so well put it, incrementally.

Actually, he's been married a number of times now, and he's "banged" MANY different women while married. He also had a eye for younger women as well, and there were rumors of underage girls. However, his current wife, Shemane, has "tamed" the Motor City Madman. I think that Ted's finally come to the decision that he doesn't want to piss off a woman who's as good a shot as he is, and knows how to dress wild game.

Of course, his philandering would immediately qualify him for running for political office, if he were to run as a dem.

Sometimes I think we need a good bomb thrower on the Right (we don’t have enough that merely tell the truth..!), anyway I think I know what you mean (with the cussing and all), but I hope you aren’t saying his views are “social liberal”?

It's not the cussing I refer too. I think the right needs a bit more of the mild cussing in the right time, place, and manner. Nuge is over the top. That's what he is, and does for shock. I don't think that's a bad thing, but it's not the best way to get elected to office.

My real problem with voting for the Nuge. Having several kids with several different women while married. This isn't just in the 70's either. One of them is from his current marriage.

On two occasions when emailing GOP Chairman Michael Steele, I have commented that I believe the reason Republicans are afraid to speak out in Congress is because they are afraid that the MSM will come looking for the skeletons in their closets. They’re more afraid of the MSM than they are of voters.

NO ONE IS PERFECT . . . everyone has issues. Okay, so do we wait for some “perfect” Conservative to come along or do we use what we have?

We’ve seen what was done to Gov Palin . . . and the lamebrains we elected to Congress are afraid it will happen to them if they speak up.

I say . . . have the lamebrains go ahead and reveal their skeletons before the MSM finds them . . . get forgiveness from the Voters . . . and have them find cajones and a backbone and start speaking the TRUTH about 0bama, Socialism, Soros, Ayers, Dohrn, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Franks, Rangel, Waters . . . .

Go on the Offensive and don’t be afraid.
