Judge Hamilton's confirmation to 7th Circuit Court should be stopped
The Fort Wayne News-Sentinal ^ | May. 11, 2009 | Douglas Wellman

The nomination of Judge David Hamilton by President Obama to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals should concern all Americans. His nomination raises several issues that should run up the red flag for any American who loves his country and believes in constitutional government.

The first problem with Hamilton is that when he was appointed in 1994 by then-President Clinton, the American Bar Association rated him as unqualified.

Judge Hamilton used to be a fund-raiser for ACORN, an acronym and an organization that have become synonymous with voter fraud.

Judge Hamilton served on the board of the ACLU, a group which was founded by self-proclaimed communist Roger Baldwin, who stated, “I will turn the United States into a worker state using civil rights as the vehicle.” Baldwin also stated he “would stand with Russia against the world.” Hamilton also served as the ACLU's litigation director.

Judge Hamilton ruled that starting the sessions of the Indiana Legislature with prayer was unconstitutional. This despite the fact that it had been an ongoing tradition for 188 years. And it had been going on since day one in the U.S. Congress and never raised constitutional issues with any of the founders.

In addition, he ruled that prayers offered in the name of Jesus, Jesus Christ, the Savior, and/or the Son were unconstitutional. He had no problem, though, with prayers being offered in the name of Allah.

He held up an Indiana law that required abortion providers to inform clients of alternatives to abortion for seven years. He was overturned by the 7th Circuit to which he has been nominated.

It has become increasingly clear that the progressives in America are using the courts to advance an agenda they obviously are unable to advance through the legislative process - the only process authorized

All of the attention is currently focused on David Souter’s replacement. That’s understandable, but we need to focus on this particular judge, a former ACORN fundraiser and former member officer with the ACLU.

I HAVE A SOLUTION!!!!

WE NEED ONE BAD ASS SET OF LAWYERS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS

The Couts ‘make law’ instead of judging law. When they overturn an election by declaring somethin un-constitutional we need it to GO BACK TO THE VOTERS not just implement the judges agenda.

When a STATE makes a law, it is NOT up to the Federal Governemtn to decide if it is constitutional in the first place. STATE’s law should trump federal law, except for the items specifically named in the constituion- the founding fathers SPECIFICALLY SAID SO

Grrrrrr.... who else is buying a gun and lots of ammo?

I hate to say it, but I expect that ALL of Obama’s judicial nominees will be this bad.

Let’s face it...as long as these idiots are in the WH, every dishonest, low life, scum sucking, unqualified, individual is going to get appointed by them. What better way to bring down this country is there...

How the heck did the guy manage to get an “unqualified” rating from the ABA? The ABA is generally teetering on the edge of the left cliff. If he’s a lefty AND the ABA actively dislikes him, he really must be exceptionally awful. There are plenty of outright communists that the ABA would be happy to rate as “qualified” for the position.

You;’ve got to read this ruling by David Hamilton as a District Judge- he says it’s unconstitutional for the Indiana state legislature to invoke Jesus in its pre-session prayer, but that it’s OK to invoke Allah in its prayers, saying that kind of prayer is “non-sectarian.” How did he come up with that?

Republicans don’t have enough Senators to stop anything by themselves, but if they play their cards, right, they can derail a nomination or two if they can get the public on their side. They have a decent chance of it with Dawn Johnsen, less so with Hamilton (though not impossible).

Hamilton (sheeesh, what a name to besmirch!) is a very serious threat to United States interests. It would be better if he were not confirmed to the 7th. This guy truly HATES America and most of its peasants. The damage to an otherwise well respected court will be incalculable.
