But here's the twist. While Christians have high moral standards, we also belong to a most gracious God Who willingly uses us even when we don't meet those high standards. God never ceases to surprise us by using unexpected people and circumstances. His grace and His truth are unwavering, and stand in shining contrast to imperfect humans and the false "wisdom" of this world. Marriage is the unique union of a man and a woman, and our imperfections cannot change that.

‘The Donald’ just announced that she will keep her crown.
Hallelujah!
Of course, Trump probably realized how bad the publicity would be for him and the contest if he took it away from her.
Excellent speech she gave! Just Excellet!
I must be in a parallel universe. The one Im used to puts up Joan of Arc or Mother Theresa as Christian role models for women, the other defends a young confused girl who gets naked for photo shoots and pumps up her boobs to DDs to help her win a beauty pageant whose ultimate goal is the objectification of womens bodies at the expense of their hearts and soul.
Oh ya, I forgot. She came out against same sex marriage so that trumps all previous considerations...like modesty, humility, chastity. And the most obscene aspect is she keeps defending the nude pics (wardrobe malfunction? Huh? Give me a break) and the boob job as if those are acceptable Christian objectives as long as you can make a few bucks along the way.
Prejean doesnt need to be condemned for this...she is young and confused, but she should not be held up as a role model and those Christians doing backflips to rationalize the events and spin them as mainstream Christian values need to take a long look at themselves. Prejean needs counseling, not congratulations and adoration.
BTW - Anyone out there who thinks this is some kind of plus for your issues is simply deluded, it is a huge loss. Prejean looks at best inconsistent and at worst vacuous, hypocritical and morally ignorant.
But, if this is the mountain you want die on, go ahead and immolate yourself.
Just curious. Did you actually read the link I posted and what Concerned Women for America President Wendy Wright actually wrote?
Encouraging an imperfect sinner is not necessarily the same thing as canonizing her.
Also, let’s look at some of the “heroes” of the Bible shall we?
Abraham, bigamist, married to his half-sister and allowed her to be put in Pharoah’s harem.
Jacob-Con-artist who conned his brother out of his birthright and married to a his cousin and her sister at the same time.
Judah-Man who utilized the services a prostitute and impregnated her only later to learn she was his own daughter-in-law
Samson-Womanizer and partier.
David-Polygamist, adulterer and murderer.
Solomon-Polygamist who allowed idolatry in Israel due to his enslavement of his lusts.
Simon Peter-Man who denied Christ.
Paul-Persecutor of the church prior to his conversion.
It seems to me that there is only one true hero in the Bible and that is God Himself. That He sovereignly chooses very imperfect sinful humans to witness to His truth is amazing indeed.
Well, to answer your question, yes. And to add further insight I met Wendy several times and she was a guest of programs on my internet radio network dozens of times. Wendy is a great gal, she’s intelligent, dedicated and jewel in the crown of conservativism.
My point is Carrie Prejean is not the standard upon which social conservatism should plant it’s flag. Carrie is a nice girl but I think she is confused and inconsistent. Posing in risque and nude situations, accepting a boob job for the purpose of increasing your odds in what at best can be considered a morally ambiguous beauty pageant, are not the actions of a considered Christian.
If this is the sand in which you want to plant YOUR flag, that is your choice. But I think that decision is perilous at best.
The sad thing is that 90% of pastors in America seem to have less courage and dedication to the truth than Ms. Prejan with all of her flaws.

Then I think you would agree that Mrs. Wright was hardly endorsing those revealing photos Miss Prejean posed for. Mrs. Wright was making the point God uses imperfect folks to witness to His truths, in this case marriage as Christ Himself defined it in Matthew 19:4-6. If God can use Balaam’s donkey to communicate one of His truths, He can certainly use a flawed, imperfect beauty queen. It’s a sad day when Miss California has more courage to witness to and defend God’s definition of marriage than a certain California mega-church pastor who prayed at the President’s inauguration.

Then why don’t you write her and lovingly express your concerns to her?
“If this is the sand in which you want to plant YOUR flag, that is your choice. But I think that decision is perilous at best.”
I don’t think I have planted MY flag on Carrie Prejean, Wendy Wright, James Dobson, Sarah Palin, R.C. Sproul, John Calvin, Martin Luther, King David, Jacob or any other flawed human. I think we should all plant OUR flags on Christ and Christ alone as revealed in His inerrant word.
As with 98% of those ignoring the inconsistency of the nude photos and boob job with her self proclaimed dedication to leading a Christian life, you’re never going to get it. You got a blind spot the size of an elephant and the hypocrisy of setting this young woman up as some kind of role model is what not only keeps the Christian churches from attracting new members but drives current ones away.

I know it’s far easier to attack strawmen that to actually deal with what a person writes in reality but why don’t you try to respond to what I actually write rather than attacking arguments I haven’t made? I notice you made no response to my earlier posts concerning the sinful behavior of many of the people God used in the Bible to ultimately accomplish His goals. Of course, this did not excuse their sin. But God still used these folks regardless(including a prostitute named Rahab who I forget to mention in my earlier post). You also deliberately ignored my earlier point that Christ is the only role model we should have.
Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” All includes myself, Carrie Prejean and you.
When Carrie publically admits she made a mistake and the nude pics and boob job were not in keeping with Christian values, then I’ll agree with you. But she (and her supporters) keep defending them as if they were admirable.
All your Biblical characters started out serving God by having contrition for their sins and asking forgiveness. I see none of that in Prejean and even more disturbingly, among many of her supporters.
I could make an anology about the Pharisees, but it wouldn’t do any good.
