Canterbury 'not gay enough'
The ancient city of Canterbury has found itself the subject of a complaint from homosexual rights activists for not having a gay bar.

Although it welcomes millions of tourists each year from across the globe, the cathedral city - famed for its association with 14th century Canterbury Tales author Geoffrey Chaucer - has also attracted ire for not having a homosexuals' community centre.
The complaint was lodged with the Local Government Ombudsman by the Pride in Canterbury pressure group which also complained about the "stereotypical" depiction of a gay character in a play staged at the city's Marlowe theatre.
Pride said the Conservative-run city council was not doing its best to attract "pink tourism" – drawing visitors who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.
But the council insisted it had helped the gay community by offering money, help and use of its facilities.
Chief executive Colin Carmichael said it had provided Pride in Canterbury with more than £4,000 funding since 2005 to help identify the needs of the gay community and promote their concerns.

For people who claim to be gay, they are sure an unhappy lot.
Once, around 1976, I had a Great Aunt who was about 92 at the time, tell me that I looked “so gay and nice” in front of my fiance. The dear little lady didn’t even have any idea of “gay” as we know it today.
We still laugh about that incident with Aunt Edith.
What, gay people cant go to a normal bar, and act like normal adults? They have to have a special bar so they can carry on like sex-starved perverts?
I don’t buy into that, now permanent, red/blue map thing either.

Why do the homos need a special bar or gathering place? If they
are as normal as they claim then they should be able to mingle with
people that don’t have the need to push their sex habits in other peoples faces.
They are no more special than the people that keep their sex lives private.
Uh, bars are privately owned businesses. Open one up, duh.
Besides, thought they all just wanted to get married and corrupt a bunch of adopted kids.
Gays are being fooled by their leftist leaders into participation in endless needless clashes with society. They are being kept miserable by these same leaders because their misery is useful as a political and societal wedge, but they're too blind with self-indulgence to see their own sabotage. Historically, one of the first things a totalitarian collectivist government does when it gets into power is wipe out the gays. You'd think this would be a little item of interest to them.
