“Dr. Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, is concerned over the appointment of a Muslim, claiming it comes at a time when Christian leaders worry their faith is being marginalized and criticized by authorities.”
Ironic, coming as it does, from the Arch Druid whose who term has been one massive disaster for the Church of England.

Dr. Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, is concerned over the appointment of a Muslim, claiming it comes at a time when Christian leaders worry their faith is being marginalized and criticized by authorities. The Church of England notes that Muslims make up only three percent of the country's population while nearly 70 percent claim to be Christian. I can't remember. Is Dr. Rowan Williams a Christian?

Does this mean the BBC will now actively support vocalization of homophobia while engaging in the Queer Nation lifestyle?

Islam is the most important religion in Britain now. But that should be a reason to not cut out Chrisrianity and Judaeism. A Molsem in that position effectively cuts Christianity et al out of it altogether.

The head of BBC Religious Programming from 2001-2006 was a Jew.
Did the sky fall?. Erm, no.
A religious man, albeit a Muslim, is a better choice IMO than the usual Islington-based middle class twerp in the BBC whose PC views are so thick you could cut ‘em with a knife, and who would treat serious religious programming with contempt and religious people as narrow minded backward bigots.
This gentleman’s CH4 shows on Christianity have been rather good, so I am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.
