Do you think a load that large might cause the engine or transmission of a car to overheat? Nah, that's the beauty of this setup. Look how high that front end is sitting -- all that extra wind blowing in from below will cool things down reeeeaaaal nice.... (need I add, /s?)

Most of the time was spent on the front porch whittling down that MASSIVE solid pine 4x4 to fit precisely down into the hole in the ball mount receiver. That IS some mighty fine whittlin'.

That’s a drill and a dowel rod. Didn’t anyone else on here ever manufacture heavy towing equipment in the back yard?

Aw, heck, it would have worked just fine. Now, it might have been interesting going down that twisty, 10% grade with yer twenty-buck after-market brake pads...as long as they lasted...heck, they charge big bucks at Six Flags for that kinda excitement...

Come on folks, this is old. The fellow needed to do that to scoot the trailer up and back every so often. There was an ordinance against parking trailers for more than so long. He had to scoot it back and forth along the curb every couple days.

That's a V6 Blazer, transmission will be gone after about 200yd.
Which is fortunate, because that moron is putting everybody behind him in mortal jeopardy.

Wouldn't even have to worry about power steering! Nope. Just put a big ol' buhlectric fan on the front. You could attach a couple of strings to each side and steer by turning the fan.

I suspect that if you are spotted by the authorities while under tow, you're going to have trouble. I
The State Patrol in any state will definitely pull you over! You will be told to follow The State Boy to the nearest TA for safety and weight per Axel, the Home Ade RGN will be scrutinized and examined. I see the DOT shake down many OTR truck drivers whether they are pulling vans, flat beds Rgns step decks or a local milk tanker. The State Boys enjoy their authoritative jobs immensely!
