If you are a Christian, it would be wise to consider the words of David in Psalms 101:3, "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me."

And from the New Testament, we have Ephesians 5:11, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

If you are a father, and have children at home, or grandchildren that look up to you, I highly recommend the following sermon.

Father is a Watchman"

God's peace.

Your points are valid until you realize they are specifically portraying angels and demons as based on solid fact. They whole premise begins and ends with “church is evil” and goes from there.

On Discovery and History channel they have specific production co sponsored fictionmentaryies portraying this Dan Brown dreck as somehow based on poooooosible, or plaaaaausible information.

This is no different than SNL going after a political figure.

The Da Vinci Code is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It stinks.

“Dan Brown’s writing style is atrociously poor”

Wish I could write so many millions of dollars poorly.

Hey, I guess I just did!

In the end, however, director Ron Howard turned out to be a blessing: his melodramatic characterization, and positively James Bondish type absurdities, have the effect of undercutting Dan Brown’s malicious portrayal of Catholicism.

Heh, the Law of Unintended Consequences.

"They" can "portray" anything they want...that's what movies are all about.

Remember Laura Croft in Tomb Raider....quite a portrayal!

Question is: can you get past what they're trying to "sell" you and just enjoy the fictional story?
That's what it is, you know....fiction!

You're still watching SNL????????????????
You've just got to get something else to do....sleeping, reading, eating, mowing the lawn, looking up at the night sky, anything other than SNL!

I watched the Discovery channels three programs lsat night also:
One on the DaVinci Code, one on the early American Freemasons, and one on Angels and Demons. My observation is that they went to an awful lot of trouble debunking the conspiratorial premises of the three. If they are such obvious fiction, why all the fuss? Just playing Devils advocate here. (pun intended)

Hmm, odd — If ever a movie comes out that said that Ronald Reagan ate Iranian babies, I’m sure you’ll defend it to the hilt.

As long as it has pretty ladies, and lots of high end special effects, a stirring musical score and stars Tom Hanks — it’s okay.

Amazing.

Very good comment. We were forewarned. I don’t let my eyes wonder toward that stuff. Thanks for the sermon link.

just the clips with the real sarah palin, all other SNL is a waste of time. Note recorded, not viewed on tv in a way to give them ratings, just “other ways”.

I agree, SNL as a social comentary has jumped the shark looooooong ago. Weak writing, and stale liberalism of a bitter old woman.

"Reductio ad absurdum"....and also just plain stupid.

But that's OK....proves this place is a fair and objective mouthpiece for even those with very little if any sense.

You've hit the nail on the head! In the very beginning, SNL was funny....really funny. Had a superb cast too....then went swiftly downhill when the show (the writers and producers) began to take itself seriously.

Kind of reminds one of M.A.S.H....how very good it was in the beginning....then turned into a one sided diatribe against everything the liberals of the time hated.
What a shame.

Wouldn’t that be a positive development, getting weak minded pansies to develop a skepticism of institutions?
