Any truth to any of them? Well....no. But then, I didn't go to the theatre to seek "the truth" (what a monumental waste of time that would be, no?).
I went to the theater to be entertained.
I will go see Angels and Demons to be entertained. I like most of Tom Hanks' work; I'm sure I'll like this one too.
If you, dear kellynla, are looking for historical fact and truth in a movie theatre, you're wasting your time and money. If you're really interested in this subject....try reading. Just make sure you read both sides of the story!
As for the rest of us....please get out of the way. We'd like to get into the theater and don't need you standing out front in your sack cloth and ashes moaning about the "historicity" or lack thereof, of any movie, let alone this one.
Can do?
Thanks!
Your attack against another Freeper was not justified.
ALL of the great films you mentioned had little or NO political purpose. They were, as you say, “entertainment” and good entertainment, at that.
However, Hollywood ALSO loves to make propaganda films.
The best way for conservatives to “cure” Hollywood of this annoying and harmful habit is to hit them at the box office.
When reviews make it plain that a book or movie is a left wing propaganda front, I will not support it.
I liked him in Forrest Gump. Talk about bad hair. But it was a fun movie and very touching in parts. Loved Lt. Dan!
Your points are valid until you realize they are specifically portraying angels and demons as based on solid fact. They whole premise begins and ends with “church is evil” and goes from there.
On Discovery and History channel they have specific production co sponsored fictionmentaryies portraying this Dan Brown dreck as somehow based on poooooosible, or plaaaaausible information.
This is no different than SNL going after a political figure.
Hmm, odd — If ever a movie comes out that said that Ronald Reagan ate Iranian babies, I’m sure you’ll defend it to the hilt.
As long as it has pretty ladies, and lots of high end special effects, a stirring musical score and stars Tom Hanks — it’s okay.
Amazing.
Just asking...what religion are you?
