I live in Florida as well. My advice would be to go to the nearest gun shop and talk with the staff. They’ll be able to advise you on what fits your particular needs. They’ll also be able to start you on the road to acquiring your CCW permits. Good luck.
Is Florida like TX? Here, if you use a revolver for you CHL test, you can only carry a revolver, but if you use a semi-auto, you can carry either one after you get your concealed handgun license.
I like my S&W 642 with Crimson Trace Grips. I also like my Walther PPS. But alas, no Crimson Trace is available for it.
