Feinstein: California prisons are ‘eminently capable of holding’ Guantanamo detainees
YouTube ^ | 20 May 2009 | Dianne Feinstein

Posted on 05/20/2009 11:14:27 AM PDT by RightOnTheLeftCoast

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) states that California prisons were “eminently capable” of housing detainees. She accuses conservatives for “fear-baiting”:

FEINSTEIN: Yes, we have maximum security prisons in California eminently capable of holding these people as well, and from which people — trust me — do not escape. So I believe that this has really been an exercise in fear-baiting. I hope it’s not going to be successful.

She is a senator so the entire state is her district but her home is San Francisco as is Pelosi's. Send all the terrorists to Alcatraz or San Quintin then the Ahhnold wouldn't have to sell San Quintin.

...the same system that holds a lot of Bloods and Crips...

The terrorists would probably be in much more danger to life and limb in CA prisons than in Gitmo.

It’s not the security of the prisons, its that the ACLU will get the courts to spring them into the public.

Judging by the results of the elections yesterday Rhino’s and liberals are eminently at risk of being defeated in the next election.

obviously Diane hasn’t thought this out very well

The only things Dianne thinks out really well are ways to funnel more government money into her hubby's business interests and how to take our gun rights away. The corrupt Feinstein-Boxer-Pelosi Bay Area Feminist/Socialist Power Trust is probably the biggest problem California faces, despite all the headlines about the budget.

I would not be so worried about the terrorists breaking out of the prison. I would be worried about their “friends” attacking the prison with AK47s and RPGs to break them out. I would not want to see a lot of lightly armed prison guards and local police (not to mention local civilians) killed or kidnapped in such a break out attempt.

These high profile and high value terrorists need to be kept in a REALLY well defended location. A military base seems like an ideal location. One outside the borders of the US would be even better. Ooops - I guess that would be Guantanamo.

I just called Feinstein's office and gave the poor staffer hell.

Feinstein has lost her mind. Not that she had that much of one to lose, but she has lost it.

DiFi’s usually pretty controlled in her statements, isn’t she? I’m really surprised she made this remark!

I’m sure her constituents are thrilled!

The price per prisoner won’t balance the budget. Feinkenstein, give them all your home address and invite them over for dinner or a sleepover. That’ll help your run for governor - that is, if you live through it.

Let your constituents vote on if they want them or not Sen. Feinstein or are you simply into blathering nonsense since you think you know what is best for them? In fact, lets do better than that, simply house those Gitmo detainees in you and your husband's luxurious abode in Cali, kkthx.

Yes, she’s generally been a lot less likely to put her foot in it, than many others in the Senate. This wasn’t one of her best moments.

Look, I disagree with her on most things, but she at least seems to have enough brains not to make herself look stupid. This is an exception to that IMO.

Really? I see a blank check here. The fact that no competitive bidding is being done, no price is being mentioned - it wouldn't surprize me in the least if Feinstein charges the Feds $1 Billion per prisoner. I don't like blank checks, and I don't trust politicians.

Moron. Hasn’t she heard that because the voters rejected tax hikes they’re going to have to let prisoners go?

...is this before or after California turns a bunch of prisoners loose due to bankruptcy?

One can hope, but 23% turnout isn't reassuring.

When Feinstein was mayor of SF, she called a press conference to discuss the Night Stalker case, a string of violent rapes and murders that terrified the entire state. She divulged previously-confidential information about Richard Ramirez’ shoes and gun — and on hearing it, Ramirez promptly dumped them into the bay on his way out of town, eliminating key evidence in the case.

She also recently publicly disclosed classified information that the US was flying predator drones from a Pakistani base. This WAS classified because the predator flights were extremely unpopular with the Pakistani people.

Is Feinstein an idiot? YOU make the call.

Diane Fineswine must not have read the LAT this morning. It said that CA would have to let illegal alien criminals go because of the anti-tax vote yesterday. Looks like the corrupt CA Dems need to get their stories straight.

Won't that be just dandy. We can cross fertilize Crips, Bloods, MS-13 and Al Quida. As if the murderous drug gangs who operate with total impunity out of California prisons and can 'reach-out and touch" anyone they damn well please aren't bad enough. Being in prison does not slow them down at all. Now we will have insane Islamic terrorists making deals with that same well-oiled and totally ruthless domestic crime network.

Ms. Fienstein, you must be nuts!
