More Trouble at CNBC? Network's Macke Reportedly at Odds with Management

Is there another shakeup imminent at CNBC? Since the economy has been on the rocks, NBC Universal's financial network has been in the spotlight - political tug-of-war and all. This time, another one of the network's star on-air personalities, Jeff Macke, could be out.

Macke had been a cynical, sometimes conservative voice on CNBC's "Fast Money" and in other CNBC and MSNBC appearances, often pointing out flaws in the Democrat-controlled political culture in Washington, D.C. Now, he could be following the same path his former colleague Dylan Ratigan, who left CNBC's "Fast Money" in March.

Jon Najarian, a CNBC contributor and co-founder of OptionMONSTER.com predicted as much in a May 21 post on his Twitter site.

Just watching the show...he is the only reason I watch. He is the voice of reason on the show. If he is gone, I’m gone. We are seeing the long arm of liberalism shutting down freedom of speech.

The part of that video where he starts talking to Dennis Kneale is possibly THE craziest thing I’ve ever seen on CNBC.

as long as cnbc keeps their anchorbabes, they can do what they want.

I can count at least a half dozen at CNBC who are openly critical of the Obama administration. If they start letting every person go who speaks against Obama’s policies, they won’t have any personnel left.

There’s Macke, Kudlow, Cramer (he just had an article out today critical of the 0), Joe Kernan (sometimes), Mark Haines and Erin Burnet often have “discouraging” things to day, Melissa Francis is downright hostile sometimes, same with Dennis Neale and Michelle Caruso-Cabrera.

Only occasionally will you find an Obama “cheerleader”...but they’re usually analysts they bring in for a guest segment, not one of their usuals.

The purge is happening.

Leftists don’t care about the bottom line, they care about their agenda.

Yeah, but when they get too out of line - now toeing the line with the economic policies, like CAFE standards, gov’t ownership of car companies, etc. - they do crack down.

I think Steve Liesman and Obama apologist and when NBC has a segment on “Today” or “Nightly News” you don’t see Kudlow, Macke, Kneale, etc. You see Bartiromo, Cramer, Liesman, etc.

The Conservatives are falling one by one at CNBC. Macke appears to have been replace with Steve Grasso who is not a lib by any means, but he is very careful when the topic is political.

Immelt is slime and must go!

Your list is pretty good... if they lose any of those others, I think relatively loyal viewers will be gone. Fast Money and Kudlow are among the few shows that I watch regularly on CNBC early evening — that will go to zero if there are any more defections.

Rick Santelli and Larry Kudlow and Joe Kernan are heroes for standing up to the bullying “execs” at CNBC. Talk about speaking “truth to power” — these guys have been doing it. And it’s their views that give CNBC any credibility at all. If all we’re left with is Steve Leesman and the GE regulars, it will be “turn off the lights, the party is over.”

I’ve always thought Jeff kind of needed a prozac pill or something. He always seems about to burst a vein.

It appeared in that whacked performance, that he was definitely off his meds.

He’s gone.

Yep, if Liesman is all they have left...I won’t ever watch. I really enjoy the channel, but “Steve” gets my dander up. I’ve written many an email to CNBC about his bias. He’s an Obama syncophant, and it drives me crazy!!!!

Well Macke may need a prozac, but that kid, Cody, I think is his name, on Fox Business, now he needs a serious tranquilizer. He’s either ADHD or on some sort of upper, LOL. He never quits fidgeting...but he is outspoken and entertaining.
