CNN’s Anderson Cooper: Is Cheney 'Emboldening Our Enemies?'

Liz Cheney, Daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney | & Anderson Cooper, CNN Anchor | NewsBusters.orgAnchor Anderson Cooper grilled Dick Cheney’s daughter Liz Cheney on his CNN program on Thursday evening about her father’s defense of the Bush administration’s anti-terror tactics. At one point, he asked, “Is it appropriate, though, for your father, who has had access to high-level intelligence for -- for eight years, to be very publicly waving a flag, saying, we’re much weaker now than ever before? Isn’t that, in fact, emboldening our enemies? Couldn’t you make that argument?”

Cooper later asked the former State Department official, “If a Democrat was doing this in a Republican administration, wouldn’t be the Republicans be saying, this is traitorous?” The anchor also questioned whether the CIA actually took care in implementing its enhanced interrogations: “But -- more than 100 people are known to have died in U.S. custody. Twenty -- I think about 20 of those have been ruled a homicide. I mean, if -- if these were just tightly-controlled things, how come so many people are being murdered in U.S. custody?”

The CNN anchor had the Cheney daughter on for a live interview eleven minutes into the 10 pm Eastern hour of his Anderson Cooper 360 program. He came out the gate using a term that he led his program with: “Is it -- is it appropriate for your father to be so out in front right now so soon after leaving office, essentially mocking the sitting president of the United States?”

Lord Zeros incompetence and weak behavior is emboldening our enemies. While he’s working on terrorists rights, they’re plotting more murders.

“If a Democrat was doing this in a Republican administration, wouldn’t be the Republicans be saying, this is traitorous?”

When was the last time a Republican called anyone (not counting nobodies like Johnny Walker) traitorous? Alger Hiss?

Coop lives in an alternate reality, where trying to make us stronger is actually exposing our weaknesses and disagreeing with others is calling them traitors.

The joy of being a liberal is making reality whatever you want it to be.

Can you imagine after they spent 8 years undermining America under George Bush?

The whole Anderson Cooper interview was an obamination, and she kicked his butt. He tried to blame Bush and Cheney for every prisoner that has died in custody, and said that Abu Grahib was masterminded by the general who rean the EIT’s at Gitmo.

These looney tunes leftists actually believe such nonsense.

Liz Cheney mopped the floor with Cooper. Cooper looked like an idiot. Cooper kept trying to link the CIA interrogations and Gitmo to Abu Ghraib. Liz kept having to point out to Cooper that the two were not related. Cooper asked if the CIA’s activities didn't infect army units. It seems Cooper forgot that the Abu Ghraib folks were a National Guard unit not regular army!!

That's because it's hard to speak when he has teabags in his mouth.

Audacity is a way of life for those people. This is not surprising as they so desperately want Cheney to ‘shut up’, but to answer that charge is simple in that they are shown to have done nothing but attack the Bush administration for POLITICAL PURPOSES when they CLEARLY never had a plan of their own or an answer for fighting terrorism and after so viciously attacking Bush and the administration actually are keeping in place some of their techniques they were so worked up in a frenzy about which shows they were willing to watch Americans get hurt to hurt Bush. It is 0bama who is clearly emboldening our enemies and until he shows any sort of plan outside demonizing the Bush administration and bringing on a rightful response from Cheney and wanting to play pattycake with terrorists they have no position to be preaching their hypocrisies. And the Cheneys are doing their country a service in calling out these radicals who want to do nothing but weaken this country while attacking those who kept us safe after 9/11. They brought it on and now can’t handle it.

The funny thing is - VPDC specifically addressed the difference between the reprehensible actions at AG and Gitmo. Apparently Andy either didn’t listen, or didn’t read, or, more likely, he is simply ignoring the fact that the argument has been made, discussed, and answered in order to continue his own political spin on the question.
