I have a friend who was the model for a statue we have at our Veteran’s Museum for the Vietnam Vets. I visit ‘him’ from time to time. ;)

When I was a ‘Trainee’ in Army Basic Training, I had such WONDERFUL instructors...all were Vietnam Vets, and I owe them a debt of gratitude to this day.

THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining, Just as brightly as his brass.

We went with our grandson's scout troop to the local cemetery this morning to place flags on all the veteran's graves...here are a couple of photos I snapped...
