Sotomayor Doesn't Live Up to Obama's Word

Like other liberal activists who assert the importance of empathy, Sotomayor remarkably finds the need to reach into her “heart” only when the litigant’s cause aligns with her own. In fact, as Clinton appointee Judge José Cabranes noted with some frustration, Sotomayor’s “empathy” with New Haven’s position was so relentless that she took unprecedented procedural steps to bury the claims of the firefighters.

In an attempt to prevent effective review, Sotomayor’s three-judge panel originally issued a one paragraph summary order affirming the district court’s ruling, then withdrew it and issued an unsigned opinion.

The Magic Latina's dubious effort to bury the New Haven firefighters' case is the kind of judicial misconduct that can act as a basis for rejecting a nominee. It shows both a disturbing level of thugishness and an intellectual inability to address the firefighters' issues.

You Tube video of Sotomayor could surface showing her growing fangs and draining the blood from screaming children and it wouldn’t matter. As long as she is perceived as advancing the radical left’s agenda, abortion, class warfare etc., then nothing else matters.

And if the SotoMayor vampire video does surface, conservatives will be labeled “vampaphobic” if they dare to question the right of the undead to serve on the nation’s highest court.

Bad title. Obama’s word is like water poured on sand. He says anything and everything. His ‘word’ is useless.

YEah. The headline can be saved by adding “To nobody’s surprise”.

After learning about her past and her experience yesterday, I came to the conclusion that she is not Obammie the Commie's true pick.

He picked her figuring it's a win-win situation:

1. If the Republicans don't fight her and she is confirmed, he puts a minority woman who happens to be a communist on the bench.

2. If the Republicans do fight her and she loses, he has fodder for 2012 (vote for me or you'll be stuck with those RACIST, SEXIST Republicans who have no EMPATHY for poor minorities who work hard and make it to the top).

The Firefighter's case clearly shows she has some sort of problem with Italians.

She should check with Judge Crater regarding that sort of attitude and where it can get you ~ not that I approve of such things, but this particular Regime is based in Chicago's crime circles and who ever knows, eh.

The nominee and the hearing need lights. Lots of light.

Many Americans will not like what they see. And, given her temperament, she could even do herself in.

It would be good if the controversy rose to the level of network televised hearings.

It's all about race, and about Obama getting the adulation for appointing the first Hispanic to the court. (That's why Miguel Estrada was treated so shabbily--the Democrats were afraid GWB might get a chance to appoint the first Hispanic and they wanted to make sure it would be a leftist).

Obama had several other women who were just as far to the left as Sotomayor and stronger intellectually, but he passed them over because of the race angle.

Obviously Sotomayor doesn't believe in "equal justice under law" if one party is white and the other party is non-white...nor does the guy who selected her.
