GOP goes after the Obama's date night in NYC @ 3:37 pm by Michael O'Brien
The Republican National Committee (RNC) went after President and Mrs. Obama's date night, contrasting their trip to New York City Saturday evening with Americans' economic struggles.
"As President Obama prepares to wing into Manhattan's theater district on Air Force One to take in a Broadway show, GM is preparing to file bankruptcy and families across America continue to struggle to pay their bills," RNC spokeswoman Gail Gitcho wrote to reporters.
"Have a great Saturday evening even if you're not jetting off somewhere at taxpayer expense," she added.
The president and first lady had announced they will take a smaller VIP jet under military command to minimize the costs of the flight to New York this evening.
The administration had come under fire before for the trip of an Air Force One plane over Manhattan for promotional pictures, a trip which sparked questions about security and the cost of the trip.
The RNC dredged up that comparison as well, adding a clip to Obama's joke before the White House Correspondents' Association dinner about the First Daughters, Sasha and Malia, having been grounded for taking the plane for a "joyride" in that instance.
That would require work and we can’t have that for this jive-talking immature man-child who throws a hissy fit when he doesn’t get his way.
And think of the security nightmare involved in seeing a Broadway show - would be cheaper to have the whole dang cast and set come to the WH. (There’s a power play that perhaps has not occurred to Our Dear Leader.)
Bet the SS is really pleased. It’s good to be king...
I thought the WHITE HOUSE had a built in theater, bowling alley, etc so the president could be entertained without spending a boatload of money and still be safe. Can’t he just rent a video like the rest of us on a budget?
That would require him to actually work!
You must be racist.

He ran out of DVDs - gave them to the Brit PM.
When the King wanted a pizza, he flew a pizza chef in from St. Louis.
I’m surprised he doesn’t fly the entire cast and crew of the Broadway show to the White House for a one night stand.
They will get standing Os all night long in NYC and that’s what the MSM will show.
Sounds like he is beginning to believe that he is royalty!
I literally feel like puking!
Remember the lefties goin’ insane at all the vacations that Bush took? Well, His Truculence won, and he can do anything he wants to do!
And Dem congresscritters got upset with executives flying on private corporate jets to be lectured on getting into billions of dollars in debt by people who got the US into trillions of dollars worth of debt.
You ain’t never been Obama on a Saturday night.
I remember Graig Nettles qoute [On George Steinbrenner’s 1970s habit of appearing in the Yankee locker room to deliver pep talks]: “The more we lose, the more Steinbrenner will fly in. And the more he flies, the better the chance there will be for a ......”(fill in the blank)
Join the club. We should get jackets.
Picture, singular.
And the only thing it promoted was the lie that it was a photo-op that had any at all to benefit the citizenry.

Just spent the week flitting across the country for campaign fundraising. And now this!
Party on, messiah. I know you expect all of us to make sacrifices......but you are exempt. Right?????????
I say let him take all the vacation time he wants, ditto for the Pelosi/Frank/Reid Congress.
They are most lovable at play.
The left went wild when President GW Bush spent every Augusut in Crawford at the ranch he owned..one time they complained being at the ranch while the iraqi war was going on.... but zero can watch a play in NYC while North Korea is sending off missles.. POTUS GWB did not make a lot of trips over seas, as I recall..
Don’t forget his trip next week to Europe and Middle East. Another apology tour.
