My God didnt will that on those people. That was clearly something Moses did freelance, blamed on God, and wrote it down. That old world Jewish history background stuff is precisely why Jesus came. We tend to place a lot more importance on what happens in this life than does God. The only thing he cares about is whether we accept Jesus as our savior and work towards the great commission.
