After calling Judge Sonia Sotomayor a “reverse racist” last week, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday that he may now possibly support President Barack Obama’s pick for the Supreme Court.
“I can see a possibility of supporting this nomination if I can be convinced that she does have a sensibility toward life in a legal sense,” Limbaugh said during his show.
In justifying his flip, Limbaugh pointed out that Sotomayor is Catholic and “doesn't have a clear record on abortion.”
Hinting that Sotomayor could possibly support overturning Roe v. Wade, Limbaugh said “whoa, it would be huge.”
“I don't know if it will ever happen,” Limbaugh said, before claiming that the “opportunity” of her support in overturning the landmark abortion case could be enough to get his backing.
Despite voicing potential support, Limbaugh also said that he is not backing off his claim that Sotomayor is a “reverse racist.”
“I'm not retracting it. Nobody's refuted it,” he said. “When she says she'd do a better job than a white guy, what is it? It's racism, reverse racism, whatever, but it's still racism. She would bring a form of racism, bigotry to the court.”
Limbaugh was joined last week by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in calling Sotomayor is a “racist” for past statements suggesting that a “wise Latina woman” could come to a better decision than a white man.

Rush knows she can’t be stopped, and is just messin’ with the heads of those on the left.
Rush spoke on his show how the socialist media is twisting his words. He has not endorsed Sotomayor.
He knows that the quickest way to sink support for a columnist or liberal candidate is to get behind him/her.
He endorsed Hillary over Obama in the primary as well.
Will this be like the “PUMA” thing last year?—they say anything and we believe them-They then turn around and do whatever they please.
I’m pro-life myself—But I don’t know what the advantage is if some kid will be allowed to be born in 2020—that’s great, but w/ Sonia and the others calling the shots, will life be worth living for the kid by 2050?

None of the above... think about what he is doing strategically. What is the 'sacrament' of the left? If Rush sows seeds of doubt about her position on this sacrament, to the point he could 'in theory' support her, whose side may start eating itself over it.

You apparently don’t understand Rush or his methodology ... Limbaugh is eroding the liberal support for the racist liberal bigot, Sotomayor, by implying she may be ‘pro-life’. Think about it: too many catholics are died-in-the-wool democrat voters, so to imply perhaps she is pro-life since she is a Catholic places these demented democrat minds in a deep quandry.

This is the 2009 version of Operation Chaos. The idea is to peel off the most ideological feminists to get some opposition from within the left.
Did you listen to the show? He said if it can be shown that she’s a pro-life vote, he’d support her. Still waiting for all the “pro-life is the ONLY issue” on FR to come to the same conclusion.

Is she? She has a couple of rulings that can make some on the left really doubt that. Plus she is Roman Catholic. Think about how they sow the seeds of doubt on our side over issues like this and how our side often completely implodes? It is dishing it right back.
This is the exact same strategy they use on us all the time..
