Did any of you happen to notice the news crawl at the bottom of the screen when Rush was talking about Chavez? It said Sen. Lamar Alexander will introduce an amendment that divvys up the 60% GM stock the gov’t will own, equally among all Americans who paid taxes in 2009!!! The amendment will be attached to the stupid FDA bill re:regulating tobacco. What do you all think about that?

Obviously I think it's great. But I wanted to post this about Lamar Alexander--he got screwed in '96 by the same GOP that screwed us all in '08 by 'deeming' McCain the candidate.

In 1996 the GOP had the election in the bag because of Clinton being Clinton with all of his defects of character and liberal policies. What does the GOP do? Give the nomination to, as a favor because of his great service to the country, Bob Dole. Bob Dole is a wonderful patriot and loyal American but, at the time, he was not presidential material. Recall, Clinton needed Perot and STILL didn't get 50% of the vote.

Lamar Alexander was the next GOP candidate in line and would've won the election. Guess Lamar was too close to the people's way of thinking.

I think the circus is missing a clown. Oh wait. Nevermind. The Senate is the circus.
