“Arms in the hands of the citizens may be used at individual discretion for the defense of the country, the overthrow of tyranny or private self-defense.” - John Adams

That's a fake quote. You poor pathetic liar. Busted yet again.

Hhmmm... I notice it isn't the quote you used either. But then, we already knew you were a liar. I just needed to update my "favorite quotes" document.

Thanks for that BTW...

To suppose arms in the hands of citizens, to be used at individual discretion, except in private self-defense, or by partial orders of towns, countries or districts of a state, is to demolish every constitution, and lay the laws prostrate, so that liberty can be enjoyed by no man; it is a dissolution of the government. The fundamental law of the militia is, that it be created, directed and commanded by the laws, and ever for the support of the laws. ---John Adams, A Defence of the Constitutions of the United States 475 (1787-1788)

This quote actually doesn't say what you are trying to make it say. "EXCEPT IN PRIVATE SELF DEFENSE". Which is exactly what we are talking about here. We aren't talking about armed gangs or private armies used in criminal enterprises as John alludes to.

Interesting that you approve of Adam's after he said something like this:
that the people can live and increase under almost any kind of government, or without any government at all.

What an anarchist... ;-)
