How many lives will be saved because this place is no longer in operation?

Tiller was quoted as saying he'd aborted 60,000 babies in 36 years of practice, which comes out to approximately 7 a day, or (assuming he worked 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year --- and I believe he did: he was what they call "highly dedicated") 10,000 every six years.

I don't know if those figures are mostly the post-21-week abortions, because he did them on preborn babies of all ages, but post-21-week was his specialty, and there are only at most 3 or 4 individuals in the USA who will do them as late as he did, including 28 weeks and beyond.

He was 67 years and reportedly healthy and vigorous at the time he was killed, with no view at all of retiring. If he had 6 years' active abortion practice to be expected in his remaining natural lifespan, a conservative estimate --- well, as I said, that would be 10,000 babies.

I feel almost nightmarish to make such a calculation. It is simply mind-boggling, like what one reads of Pol Pot or Idi Amin.
