Did you see the link I posted in reply 260 above? Since Mr Rodriguez is mentor and supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs, I would think he would be outraged at Letterman's filthy comments. He and the Yankees really need to strongly condemn Letterman.
They really ought to consider a suit against Letterman; if successful they could donate the money to the Boys and Girls Clubs.

I would hope that ALL decent people(even Dims) are flaming the hell out of CBS. This should be considered sick no matter who were stating it. This is not humor folks. Its revolting.
That it was uttered by a 'comedian' who was funny for 5 minutes, about 20 years ago, is not surprising. Dave Letterman has long been smarmy. The kind of guy who will make snide remarks about someone else when he's with you, then, as soon as you leave, make the same smarmy remarks about you. If he's caught, he gives you the big grin and says: "it was just a joke!"
Although Todd and Sarah Palin have every right to be angry and offended (as does Alex Rodriguez) they cannot physically threaten David Letterman as that would be illegal - and counter-productive. Remember, the MSM is totally on Letterman's side here. That's why Todd and Governor Sarah Palin's comments were appropriate and about as much as anyone can do in this awful situation.
I seriously doubt Letterman will apologize except in that phony 'I regret that anyone was offended. I was just kidding' way that people use to fend off negative reaction to their comments - while not admitting any fault. Unless Letterman's ratings completely tank and his zillion-dollar contract runs out at the same time, he won't pay much of a price for this outrage. Leftist defenders will fall back on 'He's a COMEDIAN! Lighten up!' and sneer at the Palins' and anyone else who dared object to Letterman's nasty, hurtful 'joke' about a 14-year-old girl being raped.
This is the sad state of affairs today. The left owns the media, academia and for now, most of the political power. They are drunk with it. They see Obama's high approval numbers and assume the whole country is of the same leftist mind. Aging 'comedians' think they can go on national TV and smear the 14-year-old daughter of a political 'enemy' with no consequence...and they are partially right.
All we can do is object, as we are, but posting how we would like Todd Palin to 'beat up' David Letterman gets us nowhere. The left will use those kinds of posts to 'prove' we're all nuts - and downright dangerous. I say: do it anyway, as they'll search out every conservative website until they find even one post that 'advocates violence' against Letterman, no matter how hypothetical that violence may be and use it to make the 'dangerous, violent, conservatives' claim.
As we often say: it's going to be a tough 4 (3½) years. Meanwhile, Governor Sarah Palin is very likely gaining sympathy from decent people, especially political independents, who see this non-stop left-wing smearing of her and her family - and are repulsed by it. I seriously doubt that many folks across the country were laughing at snarky David Letterman's 'joke' about the rape of 14-year-old Willow Palin. I guess we'll soon find out.

The comment is not funny. I can’t believe people actually laughed. It was sick in the truest sense.
One can argue that Imus’ remarks were not said with malice. This guy Letterman is a despicable person who hates...hates Sarah Palin for what she represents.
I think the outrage even on this forum is subdued. Hey...are we all as Americans this morally dead? The case makes the comment that A-Rod raped Palin’s daughter... and there is mild comment on it.
Why didn’t O’Reilly put Letterman out there as a pinhead? Is he afraid of the guy? Like McCain?
