A gunman opened fire inside the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, wounding a security guard before other officers returned fire, officials said.
Police are looking at a man identified as James Von Brunn as the shooter, FOX News has learned -- though D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier would not confirm the identity of the suspect. A man named James Von Brunn operates a white supremacist Web site called Holy Western Empire which carries several anti-Semitic statements. The site says he was a World War II veteran and also served time in federal prison for trying to make a "citizens arrest" of Federal Reserve Board members in 1981.
Law enforcement officials said two people were shot in the violence Wednesday -- the security guard and the gunman. Both were transferred to a local hospital, said David Schlosser, a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police.
Schlosser said the gunman entered the museum shortly before 1 p.m. ET and shot one security guard, before two other security guards returned fire, wounding the shooter.

The security guard has died of his wound.

What a shame. I am amazed at the level of detail they have on this man, when just a short while ago a muslim freak was only identified as a “gunman” after a similar incident. Enemy within indeed.

Back in the ‘70s I worked with a “former” Hitler Youth. He was still quite viscerally enraged that the “wrong” side won.
