I never actually heard this "joke" that Letterman told, just heard a lot about it. Would someone fill me in - what did he actually say? It's not remotely funny, nor does it even make sense. There has to be more to it. Just wondering.

There two videos on YouTube—one 45 seconds the other is 1 minute. You really need to view these. One was on one day and the other the following day. The jokes (what could be loosely called) aren’t funny and in very poor taste, but Letterman is beaming like he just laid an egg. It’s very BAD!

I think Palin can take care of her own. I also wonder if she should have even bothered to address his comments. It gives him "street cred" or martyrdom to some on the Left.
I don't watch Letterman as I never found him funny. Leno could make fun of personalities; but Jay had class, respected the jobs of those "little people" contributing to his show (food,flora,car services etc) and crossed the picket lines. Respectful toward all his guests. Sure he had Obama drop in with some controversy; and in my opinion should not have pulled off the tickets for sale on eBay..but that's just me. I know him to be genuine average guy in blue jeans, a work shirt, worn sneakers off camera. Mr. and Mrs. hanging with the employees of Jay's Garage throughout Christmas Day.
Dave is just an angry Lib with a soapbox. Sported a beard when he carried the picket sign to regain his 60's look. Got married when Palin daughters "out of wedlock" pregnancy became part of his repertoire. I always thought to avoid personal scrutiny. Timely.
