Too many on the left tend to lump everyone opposed to them in the same evil "fundie" camp. An examination of people like the museum killer often shows a contempt for the brotherhood teachings of Jesus. Hardly the typical fundie of liberal bad dreams.

But to be fair, it's also true that on our side we often lump liberals of many different types and temperaments in the same wicked grouping too. I think both sides would do well to show a little maturity and realize that not everybody opposed to their view of things is an evil enemy. Our republic presupposes that people are mature enough to handle political differences without falling to political hysterics.

You're absolutely right, the hate community straddles both right and left, since the principles uniting them characterize neither. The test should be acceptance. From a political perspective, support from the hate community shouldn't be tolerated because of agreement on a few core issues, whether right or left. On that test I'd say the left is vurnerable. Haters aren't tolerated by the GOP, and rarely by credible political websites.
