Leno has not been classy in years.
Compared to that perv Letterman, Leno is the epitome of good taste.
We can all bemoan the passing into history of the likes of Johnny Carson and his style of entertainment, unfortunately those days are gone for good.
I maintain that NBC did FAR better with Leno than they would have with Letterman.

(You want a great talk show/TV host? How about Arthur Godfrey? A great guy and a great American!)

I maintain that NBC did FAR better with Leno than they would have with Letterman. I agree with you. I used to count the number of Bush vs Gore/Clinton jokes Leno used in his opening monologues. It came out about even most nights. There was a time that I wasn't totally convinced that Leno was a Lib. because of it (naive, I know).
I stopped watching him many years ago so I don't know how much he changed since.

I don't recall contesting that. But you win the hypothetical, Leno was less crappy than perhaps Letterman.
