Sarah Palin Is The Future Of The GOP
Gather.com ^ | June 15, 2009 03:27 PM EDT

If the liberal loons would have just shut up after the election in 2008, perhaps Sarah Palin would have been forgotten, a mere footnote in history.

The problem is, the liberal loons just can't help themselves, and are genetically encoded to attack anyone with ideas they deem repellent.

If you're pro life, you're an superstitious idiot. If you're against homosexual marriages you're a evil bigot. If you dare to question global warming, you're a dupe for big business. If you own a gun and like to hunt you're a mindless barbarian.

We all know the predictable screed from the irrational leftist loons.

Sarah Palin reminds the progressive nutjobs of these things, and stands as a symbol for them to mobilize against, mock, and demean. Democrats have a long history of this, calling Ronald Reagan a cowboy, Bush 41 a secret spook, Quayle a dummy, and Bush 43 a boob.

Sarah Palin represents everything the goons on the left stand against.

When you add that to the fact she's smart, good looking, and has a deadly sense of humor-- well, you have the possibility the first female president of the USA could force the first black president of the USA out of office after one term.

Things had better go well for Obama in the next three years, because they will go swimmingly for Palin.

Palin has put together a deal with TransCanada, a pipeline building company, and Exxon, of the oil producing fame, to build a new pipeline from Alaska to the continental USA that will transport NATURAL gas.

I'm not sure many Americans yet realize, but natural gas is going to be a HUGE transitional fuel as we seek "independence from foreign oil supplies."

Natural gas is going to be a very large factor in fueling our cars, as well as our buildings, mainly because the USA has a very large reserve of natural gas at their disposal, and Palin has perfectly positioned herself to take advantage of this confluence of events.

This project ALONE will keep her in the news for the next few years, and I'm sure we can count on the leftist loons like David Letterman to keep her in the headlines as well.

Sarah Palin is the future of the GOP, if they know what's good for them.

They're both germane.

They certainly are. Before, she would leave a thread entirely when challenged. Now she uses nonsensical replies like 'LOL'.

You haven't indicated which end of the spectrum of meaning you think she lives at.

I asked you before, now answer up about this "progressive" and "feminist" label you're hanging on her.

I think you're just screwing with her for personal reasons, frankly. You aren't laying it out there, what sort of "progressive" you think she is, or "feminist".

Now pony up and quit being cute. Answer the questions put to you.

I didn't say that he was, I asked if he was just another GOP party hack. If he isn't, he'd probably make a good potential VP for Palin in '12.

But to win the Presidency against Obama, you need "Star" power... and only Palin has it. I watched her in a small town in Arizona (New Mexico? it was a southwestern state) draw between 20-25,000 people on the same day that Biden drew 4-6,000 in Pennsylvania.

Says it all, my friend. That's all you need to know. Somebody whose presence (on the podium or on the ballot) alone will bring them out in beyond-belief numbers.

Then Rush Limbaugh and other long time talk show Conservatives and millions of other Conservatives are also Progressives.

Heck, just about every Republican and conservative born today could call himself a Bull Mooser, and that would make him a "progressive".

I think about the only people in the GOP fold who could avoid that tag would be the paleocons who go around talking about Schumpeter and the Austrian School, and telling us we have to have a severe enough depression and panic to "do some good" by putting half the workforce on the street and destroying tens of thousands of firms so the survivors can make more money. That's the Old Guard talking, the "economic royalists" or "social Darwinists" if you will. Those guys aren't the Progressives, Bull Moosers, and Mugwumps of the modern GOP, they're the Stalwarts, the "malefactors of great wealth" of that earlier age, whose reply to depression and recession was "let 'em eat cake!"

They'd rather die fighting on their factory steps and shouting "Death to syndicalists!" than negotiate a raise. Now that is hardcore!

yup, the Progressive title thrown around on the thread is in splatter form.

I call liberals just that and most are liberal fascist.

This current Progressive term is dished out by the huckester Glen Beck who states Democrats and Republicans are both the same.

He he telling us Obama & Pelosi are the same as Palin and
Marine Capt. & Congressman Duncan D. Hunter.

That's interesting ... is Beck a paleocon? A Schumpeter/von Mises kind of guy?

That might explain his rather extreme equation of Pelosi and Palin.

Murray Rothbard, paleocon extraordinaire, once wrote an essay excoriating Wm. F. Buckley for having said that, everything considered, Buckley would rather put up with a large Defense Department, if the alternatives were his own execution or learning Russian at gunpoint. Rothbard didn't like that. Called Bill a "totalitarian". Wonder if that's what we're hearing in Beck?

I think Palin is evil. She has proven that the conservatives are capable of having their own evil leaders. We are in the end days! Nearly everyone is being led astray! What Palin did by dragging her daughter through the mud was down right evil. There is no excuse for that level of manipulation for political gain!

Sarah Palin called herself a Progressive.

Conservatives are not Bull Moosers. Bull Moosers were indeed the Progressive Party and Teddy’s platform was socialist:

The Bull Moose party platform - “New Nationalism” - included direct election of U.S. Senators, the creation of an initiative, referendum, and recall process, woman suffrage, a national tariff reduction, child labor laws, old-age pensions.

It called for easier amendment of the U.S. Constitution, workers’ compensation, farm relief, revision of banking to assure an elastic currency, required health insurance in industry, new inheritance tax, income tax, and limitation of naval armaments.

How smart do you have to be to be president?

Well.  Obama attended Harvard as an affirmative action student.  Algore flunked Divinity School.

That term has been thrown around by the left a lot longer than Beck and Huckster have been on the national scene.  The left uses it as a means to disguise their true identity.  Progressive, as a word, sounds great, but in reality, it's not.  It's Statism dressed up to appeal to the masses.

And, if you ask me, I see very little difference between Democrats and Republicans these days.

Pelosi said Republicans need to act like Democrats these days (Michael Steele didn't even criticize that remark), and Republicans (including Steele) continue to tell Conservatives (especially those who carry the GOP's message, like Rush, Sean, Levin, Ann Coulter, et. al.) to keep their yaps shut about criticizing Obama and his policies.

I would take street smart and common sense over “academic” smart any day.

She is that historical figure. Wake up.. the next President is right in front of us. and she is going to be in the same sentance with Washington and Lincoln, if for no other reason. than she will be our first female President.

Bzzzzt. Bad answer. I'm as taken with Sarah Palin as every other sane conservative, but this sort of thinking is what got us Barack Obama.

Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and B. Hussien Obama all have been considered “brilliant” and “well educated”, mainly at “world class” and “Ivory League” institutions.

Ivory League? Man, you're killing us.

I think Palin is evil.

Once again, you prove why no one on this forum takes any of your posts seriously.
