I’m very sorry that she is giving up being a conservative, because everyone knows you cannot be a conservative and be a Republican at the same time.

How smart do you have to be to be president? I would attest that she has above average intelligence. She certainly is a good manager and deal maker as is proven by the work she has accomplished in Alaska. She has a high moral character, and she ‘walks it like she talks it’.

I am certain that she is not as technically as intelligent as Jimmy Carter, a nuclear engineer, but he was a disaster.
consequently I believe she is smarter that Obama, also a disaster. Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi are 2 & 3 in line for the presidency, between them they don't have the mental capacity of a flea.
So tell me how smart do you have to be to be a good manager, good delegator, and a good decision maker. All key to being a good president.

Actually, silly posts like yours are more likely to get you banned than not liking Palin.

“She still has quite a bit to prove with her being on the national scene for only a year”

Only to the Huckabee and Mitt fans. Both of whom have a mountain of CONSERVATIVE proving to do to get the Palin fans...

No one is.

Well, if that's true, it's sad that the choices are so limited. My only non-negotiable criterion is that they simply uphold and defend the Constitution as they swear before God and man to do upon taking office.

Lately, I've been getting this feeling that for one reason or another, many FReepers have a distrust of intelligence. I don't get it.

When I was growing up, everyone wanted their children to be smart, and it was a bragging right if your child was intelligent. Now, I'm getting these visions in my head of people saying things like, "Thank God Johnny isn't one of those smart kids. I just couldn't live with myself if we had intelligent offspring." It's confusing as hell.

Sarah is the future of the GOP, but only IF it embraces her as its future... otherwise it has no future,

BINGO! We have a winner... You nailed it, my next republican vote will be Palin or it won’t be republican
I will not settle for a Rino like Huck or Mitt. Done, voted for my last Rino

So telling MaggieCarta that Donna wasn’t likely to be banned (after Maggie warned her of such) was silly? Queer definition of silly.

No, posting that you get banned if you don’t like Palin is silly. In case you haven’t noticed, there are several freepers who don’t like Palin who are still here. Its those who poke the snake with the stick that get bit.

Palin is a Feminist and a self-proclaimed progressive.

Mark this warning.

PUT DOWN THE CRACK PIPE AND STEP AWAY FROM THE KEYBOARD!

Problem is that Sarah isn’t as popular on the right as some might think. I’m certainly not voting for her. We can do better, much, much, much better.

Oh really? Who pray tell? A millionaire that couldn't buy the vote last time or a preacher that's turn politician.

Neither of which I will ever vote for...

Jindal and Sanford are possible VPs but not leaders of the pack...

Not liking Palin is not a ban worthy offense.

Calling Palin a progressive is...

The amount of abuse she took is directly proportional to how much fear she strikes into the left.

As a result, I support Sarah 100%.

Huck is making a lot of money with easy hours. He is central to any debate he cares to enter through radio or his show.

Romney could win if he suddenly became a lazy Presbyterian (like me)but I doubt he could energize the Baptist base that is actively seeking Mormons to convert.

If Sarah held weekly tutoring sessions with Newt, Steve Forbes, Larry Kudlow, Thomas Sowell, etc., then she could win it all. Especially if she had someone like Eric Kantor or Pawlenty as VP.

IMHO.
FWIW.

I think some on this thread are still waiting for the Hindenberg to land.

They think Third Party loons or Mitt or rich boy L Ron Paul clone, Sanford have a chance.

They are known to their neighborhood, and couldn’t draw a crowd in a phone booth.

Mitt couldn’t even get to first base in the primaries.

The difference between the Lauer interview and the Couric interview is due to the questions asked and her anticipation of those questions. Palin was quite prepared to address issues presented by Letterman's vile jokes. She knew the questions that generally would be asked. However, Couric asked questions that she was not prepared to answer. And, she did a poor job of thinking and responding on her feet.

It seems Palin does a great job when she knows the substance of the questions ahead of time. She does quite poorly when she is asked a question that makes her think on her feet.

Gov. Palin is doing fine with out instruction.
Many could take lessons from her on economy, energy,
negotiating with other countries and corporations
